I submitted late December, UR1 first week of Jan and still not UR2 no scholarships. Kinda worried.sarcasterix wrote:Has anyone who went UR1 in January gone UR2 or DLS/accepted yet (especially RTK/ scholarship applicants)?

I actually just received a scarily relevant email informing me that I was a strong candidate for AnBryce and encouraged to apply (as an admitted student).etramak wrote:Would Adcoms hold it against me if, through my personal statement, they can tell that I would be a good candidate for a scholarship like RTK or Anbryce, but I neglected to apply? Very interesting. Good to know you were admitted though! I remember sitting and down and trying to draft an essay for this and BLOS and just couldn't think of what to say. My personal statement already touched on my first gen status and how it influenced me to apply to law school but I just couldn't think of something essay-worthy other than trivial hardships (i.e., figuring out how to operate in a professional environment without parental guidance). Even if that would be a good essay topic I just couldn't seem to do it that day and decided to just submit my app right then and there.b-a-n-a-n-a-s wrote:I actually just received a scarily relevant email informing me that I was a strong candidate for AnBryce and encouraged to apply (as an admitted student).etramak wrote:Would Adcoms hold it against me if, through my personal statement, they can tell that I would be a good candidate for a scholarship like RTK or Anbryce, but I neglected to apply? This is also very true . I was just getting anxious considering I have the numbers but haven't even gone UR2 yet, while others who submitted 2-3 weeks after me have been admitted already.JamesBlahDeBlah wrote:No one will ever hold not having to give you money against you.etramak wrote:Would Adcoms hold it against me if, through my personal statement, they can tell that I would be a good candidate for a scholarship like RTK or Anbryce, but I neglected to apply? Applied 12/11, went UR1 12/12, and haven't seen any movement since. Getting antsy.
Starting to think that the issue is my GPA is .01 below their 25th. This is one case where my undergrad not giving A+'s may have made a huge, huge difference.

I got an email to apply for RTK in a similar vein. This essay is KILLING me.

Eh, I was .2 under their GPA and got in, so it's probably randombunb wrote:Applied 12/11, went UR1 12/12, and haven't seen any movement since. Getting antsy.

1. I was admitted with a GPA further below the 25th.bunb wrote:Applied 12/11, went UR1 12/12, and haven't seen any movement since. Getting antsy.

2. Your LSAC report includes where you fell within applicants from your undergrad GPA-wise.
Point is, don't read into it too much. Just relax and wait.

I wouldn't give up hope. I was UR1 for a long time, and then switched to UR2 on Tuesday. Applied on 12/12.bunb wrote:Applied 12/11, went UR1 12/12, and haven't seen any movement since. Getting antsy.

I know that this isn't a death sentence (especially with an LSAT at the median), it's just frustrating to know that .01 or .02 more grade points would've made me more competitive.

Ur1 since early December. Should I be worried? I think weak LORs and being a k-jd are red flags in my application. What is the timeline for UR1 to UR2 for most people?

honestly, if you've been UR1 for almost 2 months, it's possible that your app didn't make it past the first reviewer.steadfastness11 wrote:Ur1 since early December. Should I be worried? Wait noooo don't despair! I was UR1 from 11/27 until Friday of last week, and then I was admitted on Tuesday.steadfastness11 wrote:This is what I thought ;] I have good LSAT so I feel more bummedFutureTaxLawyer? wrote:honestly, if you've been UR1 for almost 2 months, it's possible that your app didn't make it past the first reviewer.steadfastness11 wrote:Ur1 since early December. That’s some pretty baseless speculation. Plenty of people last cycle were stuck UR1 for months but ended up being accepted late in the cycle.FutureTaxLawyer? wrote:honestly, if you've been UR1 for almost 2 months, it's possible that your app didn't make it past the first reviewer.steadfastness11 wrote:Ur1 since early December. it's also entirely possible that you get in. We don't know exactly how things work at NYU admissionssteadfastness11 wrote:This is what I thought ;] I have good LSAT so I feel more bummedFutureTaxLawyer? wrote:honestly, if you've been UR1 for almost 2 months, it's possible that your app didn't make it past the first reviewer.steadfastness11 wrote:Ur1 since early December. I was UR1 from mid-November until mid-January then got accepted this week -- don't let the lack of movement worry you!subpoenacolada wrote:That’s some pretty baseless speculation.
