NYU c/o 2020 -- WAIT LIST (New Poll!)
Since I'm gonna be here until the end I figured I'd start now check ins welcome.
T14 Waitlist Data (a little dated at this point): http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=225363
Last year's thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... u+waitlist
Last year's timing:
They were WL'd on the same exact day-- 4/26,
Feeler email went out-- 5/4,
People starting going UR ~~ 5/6,
DLS on status checker, ASW worked soon after (First admits off WL) -- 5/10,
2nd round of UR-- 5/20,
After this I think it starts to get smaller and random, but normally following the pattern of feeler email --> UR --> DLS/acceptance.
Some people got UR without the email (maybe if they already know you'll go?), but it seems like everyone who got the email went UR. Last UR post is around August 9th.
Old poll:
65 Riding WL forever
34 Riding WL for a short time
8 Declining
I'll try and update more as I continue stalking

Still laughing at "Thank you for your interest in joining the admissions panel discussion. Unfortunately, this event has reached capacity."

Nope! My task for this week is to decide between Duke, Michigan, and Cornell.CR7 wrote:Have you decided on an alternative if not NYU? Checking in as wellKeilz wrote:Checking in until orientation begins in August

Good luck! I was in a similar scenario but I'm probably going to take Cornell over Michigan.Keilz wrote:Nope! OK SO anyone have any data on the people who were admitted in the first round of WL pulls last year? Relative stats? Wondering if as a 25<LSAT<50 and GPA<<<25 I have any shot at the first round or if that's for the remarkable people
Would do my own research but am on mobile atm, will look later and post if anyone's interested

Also in terms of LOCI, is it acceptable to put offers from other schools, where you've deposited, talk about committing without regard to merit aid? Would legit withdraw from all of my other waitlists and turn down good scholarships elsewhere for NYU so wondering how blatantly I can state that / when I should tell them that

Definitely not riding it out forever. Want time to move in and get settled before law school starts so I can have all my focus on my studies. On the fence about even going past GULC's second seat deposit. Dropping nearly 2.5k on seat deposits for a school I don't attend is difficult to justify in my mind. Granted the long term benefits are clear... it's just really a lot of money.

+1. Deposited at two schools, but chose cornell over those choices bc of money & I liked ASW a lotCR7 wrote:Good luck! the big t14 waitlist data thread is somewhere on here if you search for it. it explains the break downs off WL - splitters, median, URM, etc.wildquest8200 wrote:Makes sense.
