Checking in. Still deciding whether or not to ride this. Does anyone have an idea of how many they accept of the WL?

Also checking in. To answer the above question, I think they took about 30-40 last year. I have no idea if that number is average or an outlier.

I might well be wrong on the number. I think that was calculated on the basis of total offers they made minus straight admits, so someone else could redo that calculation and see what they get.bearedman8 wrote:Was it really 30-40? I heard that it tends to be around 10% of the class, so ~20 people.Whittie wrote:Also checking in. To answer the above question, I think they took about 30-40 last year. Also, when does the majority of waitlist movement at Stanford tend to happen? I looked on LSN and it looked like it mostly happens in June, but it seems like most of it happens in late May for other schools. (I'm trying to figure out the optimal time to submit my LOCI.)
As for the LOCI, the standard wisdom seems to be to send one early-May. At that point they should have deposits counted up, and will start reviewing WL candidates.

Others who mailed in WL status, did you get any confirmation that you're on the list now?

Commitment deadlines for some schools are coming up May 1. Can we commit elsewhere while remaining on Stanford's waitlist? Seems schools would take into account that some are on waitlists and won't hear from them until June or July.

Yes you can commit while remaining on waitlists. But you do have to turn down other offers of acceptance once you deposit somewhere.applicationquestions wrote:Commitment deadlines for some schools are coming up May 1. How many days after you sent it? According to USPS tracking, my letter arrived Friday August 28th, and I still haven't heard anything from them.cys0823 wrote:I didahendrix3 wrote:Has anybody received confirmation of their intent to stay on the wl?

Are we supposed to submit financial aid info to them before hearing anything? It's not clear to me looking on their website (https://law.stanford.edu/apply/tuition- ... l-support/) whether they want it before they accept you.

Stanford doesn't kick anyone from the group so I don't think the member count would be a good indication of how much WL movement we can expect.laffytaffy222 wrote:Anyone have a way we can get a count on the Facebook group?

They actually have been this year apparently, my boyfriend told me it's at 151 (like two days ago I think)bearedman8 wrote:Stanford doesn't kick anyone from the group so I don't think the member count would be a good indication of how much WL movement we can expect.laffytaffy222 wrote:Anyone have a way we can get a count on the Facebook group?
