I tried googling this and was unsuccessful. What is a countercycle?

A counter cycle defined:

Is when you claim to be admitted to a school and then a day later ask for advice on how to write a LOCI for said school -- because writing a LOCI to a school you have been admitted to... that would indeed be counter to anything anyone has every done before.

4 new YLS 2020 FB group members have been added over the past couple days, 2 of whom appear to be WL admits (the others are an administrator and a current student). So it looks like things may still be movin'...

No movement; sorry for any anxiety the bump caused.

Just out of curiosity, has Yale released anybody from the WL this summer? Or have people only dropped off voluntarily?

Has there been any movement all summer? I haven't been released from the waitlist yet, despite the fact that classes begin in a few weeks.

I think there's been some movement based on the Facebook group's size, but I also think Yale doesn't drop people from the WL except voluntarily.

Same here. They probably sent that to everyone still waiting.

The release email was very flattering, haha!

I'm curious what it said; I finally dropped out about a couple weeks ago, but I didn't get any emails about it.

It basically thanked us for waiting the whole summer and said "we were very impressed by you and you might consider applying as a transfer" and then reiterated the whole priority-track transfer option again.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
