Another reason why I must go to Michigan: I've already told my dog about the squirrel situation, and I can't disappoint him. I may even bring this up to the admissions team.Earlskies wrote:Finally someone gets it.chichi1992 wrote:I have been drinking exclusively Michigan-produced beer for the past month. This might not help anyone's stress, but trying to shed some light for y'all. I still haven't gotten my decision back from Michigan and I applied in January and the deposit deadline is in 2 days. Not saying that means anything necessarily, but it seems like they may be backed up just a bit.

You may still hear before the deadline. So kinda premature to read into it. And even if you don't, several things other than backing up could explain the delay.TedBuckland wrote:This might not help anyone's stress, but trying to shed some light for y'all. I get it, I was just hoping to give everyone who is waiting some insight into where they're at with their cycle. Not trying to make any assumptions.

Re: Michigan Law School c/o 2020 Waitlist - NEW POLL
From Waitlist FAQ:
We have now processed our April 30 deposits, and at the moment, we have a full cohort for both summer and fall. We do not, therefore, have any immediate plans to make waitlist offers; further, in order to make sure we have a realistically sized waitlist, we will soon begin releasing some participants, in cases where we think it is extremely unlikely we will be able to make offers this year. Please be aware, however, that our waitlist plans could change quickly, as we anticipate a very active waitlist season at a couple of our peer schools (which can have a corresponding impact on the plans of people in our projected incoming class). We will, of course, update this page frequently as we proceed through the season.
Good time to practice patience and hope lots of people get off HYS & CCN waitlists!
edit: silly spelling.

Man that just destroyed me. Does anyone know if this has happened before and if there's a chance people will make it off the Waitlist AT ALL?

I've thoroughly stalked the previous TLS waitlist pages for Michigan, and I do not believe this has happened in the past 4-5 years. For the C/O 2017 WL, they published that they did not have any summer start needs (although at least one person reported getting off the WL for summer), but they still made about 10 fall start offers around May 2.FugMyLife111 wrote:Man that just destroyed me. I know it seems really disappointing right now, but Spivey is predicting massive wait list movement this year in general. And I know some Michigan commits who would leave if they got off their WLs. I think there will be some movement at Michigan this year, it just remains to be seen whether it's an average or below average amount of movement.

Idk if it'll make you guys feel any better but I do know a lot of people seem to be holding their breath for WL movement this cycle. I'm sure some spots will open (if you're riding this WL til the wheels fall off).

From Spivey on HLS Waitlist Forum:
"Although if you look at just about every past cycle for the last good while now you'd be able to say with confidence the HLS is highly likely not done.
When I look at the data and talk to deans of admissions and look at some admit patterns this cycle I just think there will be a lot of admits made all summer long. Which, to the extent that I can, I'd encourage everyone not to get bummed when a few people get admitted to x dream school off the WL and you don't. Because the summer is long but full of admitting, or something like that."

I hope winter is not coming. Let the summer be long and fruitful. Can someone bring back some news from THE WALL?bestwishes wrote:From Spivey on HLS Waitlist Forum:
