Waitlisted.
What are your thoughts on mentioning in the LOCI that I'll be retaking the June LSAT to improve my score?

I guess there's no downside, but I probably wouldn't.
They might set you aside when they otherwise might have decided on you before July.

I feel like H is going to have one of the highest yields ever cause the rest of the t-14 has been such a cluster this cycle.

methinks bad news 4 us waitlisters.

it's mostly the lower top 14 and NYU that have been weird. Seems to me that most people who are choosing between H and somewhere else got big scholarships at lower top 14s or some money at CCN.
Or obviously Yale or Stanford (which haven't been weird this cycle either). Harvard's admissions haven't been off this cycle, and the people already admitted to H probably aren't the same people getting ghosted by NYU or rejected by cornell.

Maybe im just extrapolating my current situation too much as a marginal H #'s candidate.

My adrenaline spike is just now subsiding. Me knowing that they are definitely not even looking at the waitlist yet kept me from full on heart attack.

Hahaha didn't even realize...I could've sworn I was at like 920 the last time I checked (probably means I need to stop going on TLS so often)

But anyway. For pointing it out, I shall dedicate #1000 to you. :D

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

The only risk would be them releasing you from the waitlist before seeing the June LSAT, but idk how often they release people from waitlist.

Any one have thoughts on visiting HLS if you are on the waitlist? Is it worth it or help in any way? Thanks in advance :)

checking in
I am an international applicant, got waitlisted on 31st of March

LSAT < 25%, GPA = AA

feel honored to be in the waitlist with my very limited credentials

does anyone know whether a voluntary abandonment of scholarship in LOCI will help? And also whether we can submit additional reference letters from Harvard Law School alumni at this stage? thanks~

Harvard only does need-based aid, so I doubt it'll have an impact in their decision.

Their waitlist FAQ discourages new LORs.

Hi everyone!

I am on the waitlist with a GPA of 4.0 and LSAT of 167. I studied Acct/Finance in my undergrad and interned at Fortune 50 companies every summer (which was very rare coming from a small state school such as mine). I am also finishing up an International M.B.A. in France this semester.Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not someone in my position has a chance/strong chance of being accepted off the waitlist? I am deciding whether or not to accept and job offer and remove myself from the waitlist. Thank you for your help in advance!

Unless you are above both medians, the odds are against you getting in off the waitlist. Based on your LSAT, I don't think you should be forgoing other good opportunities just to ride out the waitlist.

Also retake™.

But I am curious as to your question about voluntary abandonment (that's so catchy!) - what do people think about this, because I also was contemplating it.

What should we be in our LOCI? I mean, obviously Harvard knows that they are amazing, I think it would be a waste to talk too much about that. Should I discuss my career goals?

It's your call, but they won't meet with you or let you sit in on a class, so unless you have friends there you can sneak into a class w/ (i.e. they ask their profs for you) or there's some sort of cool lecture you want to attend, I think you'll be pretty bored and it might not make sense as an expense

I'm still skeptical it would have much effect. It's not clear that your voluntary abandonment would be binding (any contract law experts here? oh, wait...). It might even make you a potential liability if you are admitted without financial aid: what if you decide later to sue for not being considered for aid on equal footing with the rest of the student body? Maybe such a suit would fall flat, but it still seems like a potential headache for them.

In any case, I would expect Harvard cares more about admitting the students they want in the class than having another 100 grand (possibly) in their pocket.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
