How serious do you think they are when they say "It is not possible for candidates on Reserve ... to make an appearance before the Admissions Committee" ? Am I not allowed to visit them at all?

I think they mean more of in a sense of "I want to plead my case to get off of the reserve list"

Friends, I thought it'd be fun/helpful to share game plans (if you're planning on waiting it out).

tell us if you've already sent a LOCI/extra LOR or if you plan to do so. If you plan not to send anything I'm curious to hear why. Finally, how long are some of y'all willing to wait.

Reserved early Feb, sent a LOCI in response, and got an additional LOR from a CC/CLS double alum which I believe already has been sent as well. I plan to stop waiting when they send out the 2nd Reserve emails.

Checking in, happy to be here rather than flat-out rejected
Any good LOCI resources?
Also, going to stop by in early April to take advantage of "open door policy" and sit in on a class, but I don't actually know what to say when I get there...?

Hello everyone! I would be glad if someone could answer my questions as I am new to this Forum and to the "JD applications" world.

First of all, today I received a notification informing that I was placed in the reserve group.

As a foreign national that attended under graduation abroad in a non English speaking country with whole different educational system, I was very naive about the application process.

I graduated on the beginning of this year and I started looking for information about Law schools Admissions Process only on September of 2016.

So, I only had a couple months to study (not full time as I was on my under grad last year and doing internships) for the LSAT and to do the travel arrangements in order to take it in the US.

Not surprisingly, I got 150. I don't have a GPA (they don't even convert my grades) as the Brazilian system is so different. So, the main factors on my applications are my ridiculous LSAT and the soft factors.

Being so naive  , I talked to a Law professor in NY and he told me that tier 1 schools value a lot the "soft factors" and since I have many of them(I am a lawyer in Brazil, I have done a lot of charity, etc), I started thinking I would be accepted in top law schools and started applying for Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, Georgetown, etc.

I also applied for some tier 2 and tier 3 schools, just to make sure I would be accepted with scholarships somewhere. :D

Anyway, tier 3 schools responded me first and accepted me with good scholarships, some tier 2 schools accepted me with no scholarships and others put me on the WL. After being put in some WL and getting rejected by a tier 2, I started suspecting that soft factors almost dont count and that the Law Schools don't really take in consideration that I am foreign and had little time to understand and study the LSAT.

And then the top schools started sending out the rejection letters, one after another, in such a way Columbia was the only one remaining and I completely lost hope of being admitted in a top school, and actually enrolled in a tier 2 school in NY.

So my questions are:
From the experience of you guys, does a 150 LSAT with "no gpa" have a minimum chance of being accepted in Columbia?

Does Columbia have a tradition of taking in consideration the "soft factors" more than other schools?

P.S: Sorry for the big post. I kind of have no one do discuss this issues and I am so glad i found this forum that I decided to tell my whole story.
