I'm beginning to assume that, since I still haven't heard anything, my rejection letter is making its way to me in the mail...

Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
I just called CLS admissions to see if a decision had been sent out to me. (I had called them during regular admissions, and they had confirmed then that no decision was sent out, so I was thinking it might work again.) The woman I spoke to basically said she was not able to tell if a decision had been sent but that decisions will continue to be sent through the end of next week. I double checked with her that nothing was put in the mail, and she said she really did not know.
Granted, I also called yesterday, and the woman I spoke to then (different person) said to send in an email because they could only respond via email. I did that, and they never replied.

you'd only be jerking them around if by miracle's chance you got accepted. any other outcome it is percieved they jerked you.gargleblaster wrote:34iplaw wrote:Slight disagree. As someone who wants to get in, you should still ride it as long as it could possibly benefit you in some way - either attending CLS or using it as leverage. im not
above medians to the poster asking about that.
lets be real
they're jerkin me around this long - im gonna jerk them around a lil bit
but yeah theres no downside for me to stay on so im stayin
but it only has to make sense to you.

despite being played, i rather this than a flat out rejection. i looked on lsn and columbia doesn't reject a lot of people, if lsn is any indication.ZVBXRPL wrote:i emailed them once and they got back to me a few days later, so u may see a reply manyana. i wonder why.
it does seem, if tls is any indication (lol) that 3rd reserve is a lot smaller.

I think third reserve is a lot smaller, and they are cutting down a lot of the people who were silent or probably won't make it. There is still 1% chance of getting in given 1-2 people who might become orientation no-shows.lillawyer2 wrote:despite being played, i rather this than a flat out rejection. i looked on lsn and columbia doesn't reject a lot of people, if lsn is any indication.ZVBXRPL wrote:i emailed them once and they got back to me a few days later, so u may see a reply manyana. 100-200 people who made it to 3rd Reserve? I thought that was around the number of people who originally were placed on 1st Reserve. It's so surprising that no one has reported being invited to interview/accepted outright from the 2nd Reserve and that Columbia seems to want to wait until the end of 3rd Reserve to potentially let people in.lillawyer2 wrote:poster on reddit said 100-200 ppl. i think that makes sense.melmelcoolj wrote:I think third reserve is a lot smaller, and they are cutting down a lot of the people who were silent or probably won't make it. Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
I don't think they reject anyone initially. They let everyone (who has a remote chance) stay on reserve. So at this point, it's probably 100+ people fighting for 1-2 spots. In other words, make other plans.theoptimist17 wrote:100-200 people who made it to 3rd Reserve? I thought that was around the number of people who originally were placed on 1st Reserve. I'm only staying on myself because I live very close and it won't really hurt me other than the deposit I paid at another NYC school.

lol I always wonder if they have admissions people lurking on the boards trying to figure out who isn't as committed to attending their school.
congrats on NYU
