If you're not going to go if you get in it'd be potentially super helpful to those of us still interested for you to just go ahead and let columbia know that you're no longer planning to attend if accepted.gargleblaster wrote:lol is anyone actually gonna go if they get in?

Still on reserve
Columbia and Penn seem to be really into emailing me repeatedly to remind me I'm still waitlisted

It seems like everyone from second reserve got the invitation to be on the third one as long as they haven't withdrawn.

Slight disagree. As someone who wants to get in, you should still ride it as long as it could possibly benefit you in some way - either attending CLS or using it as leverage. Please do withdraw once you know you cannot benefit thoughlillawyer2 wrote:Yes second this!!muggleclutch wrote:If you're not going to go if you get in it'd be potentially super helpful to those of us still interested for you to just go ahead and let columbia know that you're no longer planning to attend if accepted.gargleblaster wrote:lol is anyone actually gonna go if they get in?

Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
For those wondering whether anyone was dinged, I'd suspect so. There weren't as many posters in the 2019 group (I looked at two threads; there may have been a third), but at least one person mentioned getting a snail mail rejection on the Saturday following third reserve acceptances. That said, there was not evidence of waves, so it may not be the same as last year.

So I'm not certain as to whether this would work or be okay, but I feel the poster should ride it if a CLS acceptance could boost their scholarship at the school they plan to attend.lillawyer2 wrote:

I don't know when that becomes (or if it already is) an impossibility, but I feel like they should feel free to (and should) ride the wave until it no longer could benefit them.

the benefit of riding the wave would be that u actually want to attend the school-imo.34iplaw wrote:So I'm not certain as to whether this would work or be okay, but I feel the poster should ride it if a CLS acceptance could boost their scholarship at the school they plan to attend.lillawyer2 wrote:

an acceptance from columbia would happen august at the earliest-i do not think a scholarship boost would happen from the other school this late.
also if there is a comparable offer from another school, columbia might not even be worth it-which is probably why that person wouldn't go if accepted or doesnt want to bother.
if someone doesn't seem interested in staying on the waitlist-i naturally assume they have already weighed if its worth it to them.

Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
That's totally fair. I'm not that familiar with how things work at this point in the process in that respect. I was mainly pointing out to make sure that it couldn't.lillawyer2 wrote:.
I fully intend to attend CLS if admitted but felt it was worth mentioning since people make similar remarks earlier in the process. My response would probably be more warranted during those earlier parts of the process when scholarships are more readily available.

Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
If this hypothetical person who didn't want to attend Columbia is offered a seat at sticker price, she'll get her scholly bump or not from her deposited school and withdraw from Columbia. Her seat will then go to the next in line on the WL. Yes, that may make the ppl down on the WL chain wait, but I think that's a fair use of the WL.
And, who knows, maybe Columbia WILL match her deposited school's scholly - then she'll maybe reconsider her stance.
While it's not in my interest to say this, I stand by what I believe is right, and say, "Don't let TLSers kick you off a WL you deserve to remain on!"

I think you articulated my position better than I did. Or, perhaps, I qualified it a tidbit too much and it got muddied.barkerintokyo wrote:.
