University of Arkansas (Fayetteville) c/o 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
I don't think that T2 qualifies UARK as a "top" law school, but I've seen some T2/3 schools with threads, and I'm curious if other TLS members are applying here, so I started a thread anyway.
I was accepted with a conditional $6k/year offer (~80% of tuition+fees). Anyone else? I'm seriously considering this school as it's my alma mater, so I've got a lot of great connections here. Also, the employment rate is pretty good as long as you don't have aspirations of big law or out of state work. And it's cheap. Very cheap.
Who else is applying or has applied here?

I got accepted here w/ a good scholarship for this cycle. Ark is a great law school if your aspiration is to stay in the NWA area (possibly move to Little Rock, maybe even Dallas if you were to be in the top of your class). The education is a great value for the money, however you do have to be realistic about your employment opportunities from the U of A. If you have any other goal than working in Arkansas/possibly surrounding states and are OK with never doing BigLaw then Arkansas might work for you. I know a lot of alums who are very successful, and in the NWA area at least it seems like they do pretty well.

Checking in...I was accepted with a pretty tempting scholarship offer. I visited a few weeks ago and loved Fayetteville. Also, isn't tuition and fees approximately $15k a year for in state? Did you mean to say they gave you $6k a semester?jza1994 wrote:I don't think that T2 qualifies UARK as a "top" law school, but I've seen some T2/3 schools with threads, and I'm curious if other TLS members are applying here, so I started a thread anyway.

Well, UofA bumped up my offer to $8k/semester (just over full tuition + fees) without me negotiating with them at all. They just randomly increased my scholarship. Hard to pass up...

Sorry, I know this is an old post but I’m lurking
I went to the U of A for undergrad and am considering going for law school as well. I’d like to go to another state, but the cost makes it so tempting to stay in good ole’Fay.
Did you end up going there? Also, if you don’t mind my asking, what were your numbers that earned you the scholarship?
I hope your law school career is off to a good start! Thanks!

I did end up going here! I have not regretted the decision to stay in-state and definitely recommend it. I'll PM you numbers.hey_isla wrote:Sorry, I know this is an old post but I’m lurking

I did end up going here and do not regret it! I definitely recommend staying in-state for the money. If you live nearby and haven't already, you should shadow a class or two. Dean Miller's office will set it up for you!
I'll PM you numbers.

I have not been on here in forever, and now I cannot find a way to PM. Oh, well. My LSAT was 161 and my GPA was 3.87.
