Mercer Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Thought I would get the ball rolling on this one since I didn't see a thread yet!

Good deal. I applied 1/4, complete 1/9, admitted 1/12. I was at the Law Preview Day or whatever it was called this weekend. Overall, it was about as I expected. I prefer the smaller setting so I am seriously considering attending (waiting to hear back from GSU and UGA)

How is Macon and the area around the law school? I'm from out of state and don't know too much about the area.mrushing10 wrote:Anyone here back about the Woodruff yet?

Mercer undergrad here... Macon is not the best city by any stretch of the imagination (especially in the area of Macon that the law school is situated). Not to dissuade you or anything from attending Mercer, but just giving it to you straight that the area is not the most appealing. You can, however, secure a place in a decent area not far from the law school campus that is safe and appealing. Basically, Macon isn't a dump as a whole but there are definitely many portions of Macon that are dumps. These dump-portions are in close vicinity to the law school campus.Mr. Freeze wrote:How is Macon and the area around the law school? I'm not from Macon but I'm a native Georgian and have spent a lot of time in Macon for various reasons over the years - would second this. There's stuff to do but it's by no means an urban center on par with Atlanta. I'd suggest visiting the school if you have a chance to see if you like the location first (and to scout out areas you'd like to live in, as per the previous poster's suggestion). I like Macon well enough, but it's not for everyone.

Anybody plan on traveling from Atlanta to Macon? Or, is this just a really dumb thought?
