So roughly half the class is working in a law firm, and of that half, roughly half is working in a big firm (100+ Lawyers)... And 6% got a fedclerk.
So their biglaw+fedclerk is approx 30%, or the same as of year. Am I understanding that correctly? It's Friday and I'm tired.

Re: Emory Law c/o 2020 (2016-2017)
You said this is the report of the 2015 graduates. 10 months after the class of 2015 graduated was last March. If you made a typo and these are the 2016 employment stats then these are current, if they aren't and are the class of 2015 stats, then they've been around since around last march.pleasesendhelp wrote:Wait, so LST is a lie, or is Emory lying to me cause fed+biglaw is 40% based on the report Emory sent mevcap180 wrote:Damn. I would expect that Emory calculates as percent of class with long term full time jobs, and the lst number is out of the whole graduating class.

Then where is Emory getting the 34% number from? Sorry, I'm no good at math, but I did try to get to 26% that LST shows but I couldn't. Anyone more savvy able to clarify?michelekfla wrote:.

Re: Emory Law c/o 2020 (2016-2017)
From the numbers you have sent, 53% class is law firms. And of that, 51% is biglaw (100+). Which means 27.03% (i.e., .53 x 51%) of the class is biglaw firms. 2015 was 26%. So, this may be new numbers. However, you have to confirm what the report you got in your mail says. Does it say employment stats for 2015 or for 2016?pleasesendhelp wrote:Then where is Emory getting the 34% number from? just checked the booklet. It's 2015, but it was a bit misleading because it said in bold that they included 2016 places of employment at the end of the packet.BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:From the numbers you have sent, 53% class is law firms. Maybe they could tell that I was not that interested to begin with but I feel a little undervalued by their offer - $78k total (3.9x/164).jennageorge wrote:Damn congrats!!texas95 wrote:Got my offer on the 14th as well. $108,000 total, 3.5/165.jennageorge wrote:I was one of the people who was to be given a scholarship by March 15th. Just got my email. Lower than what I was expecting based on LSN. I even found a way to lower my overall COA in ATL. It was a top choice, which sucks for both Emory and I, because I would have matriculated for sure. I even tried to pre-negotiate by showing them my other offers before they decided (way better offers with better ranked schools). I know they don't negotiate after initial offer, so I will be most likely withdrawing (and cancelling my plane ticket for LawDay/ASW). Sad days. Good luck to you all!Long shot hero wrote:No and I'm getting a little frustrated.texas95 wrote:I'm part of this group. Still waiting on my award. Those of you waiting on numbers... maybe you just didn't get anything?
P.S.: Yes, I am butt-hurt lol...and the good luck is only half heart-felt!
Will be promptly withdrawing, cant believe I waited almost 3 months for this news.

Don't be so discouraged. I find that their offerings are quite weird... like they don't make a lot of sense. Some people with higher numbers than mine (170/3.0~) received less, and others with lower (like 150s/3.5~) were offered nearly as much as I. I think they give out offers based on the likelihood of you attending. That's the only explanation I can come up with so far. If you go through this thread, you'll see what I'm talking about.BoyJord wrote:

I'm going to negotiate very soon, don't care if they're "not known to negotiate". I'll share the results.

Hey same offer lol! I agree about YP but my numbers are good- not YP level good. Plus, I showed active interest. Meh, it's ok. They have to take their steps to ensure certain things, so I understand. But, I did withdraw as well.BoyJord wrote:We await your resultspleasesendhelp wrote:Don't be so discouraged. I find that their offerings are quite weird... like they don't make a lot of sense.
