It might be a scramble right now due to all the recruitment events and alum events this coming week (or is it next week)? Idk.
ASW is in like three weeks, but I know they're definitely doing work to get everything in order now.

When did you apply? I waited a good three four months without hearing a damn thing until I got the package in the mail.

Oh wow ok. I applied in early January, but I guess I should just be glad I haven't been rejected yet haha.

It was specified on many of our letters that we were, indeed, being awarded merit scholarships, and that we would get the numbers *by* mid-March.
I'm part of this group. Still waiting on my award. Has anyone received theirs yet?
No and I'm getting a little frustrated.
I was one of the people who was to be given a scholarship by March 15th. Just got my email. Lower than what I was expecting based on LSN. I even found a way to lower my overall COA in ATL. It was a top choice, which sucks for both Emory and I, because I would have matriculated for sure. I even tried to pre-negotiate by showing them my other offers before they decided (way better offers with better ranked schools). I know they don't negotiate after initial offer, so I will be most likely withdrawing (and cancelling my plane ticket for LawDay/ASW). Sad days. Good luck to you all!

P.S.: Yes, I am butt-hurt lol...and the good luck is only half heart-felt!

I also meant in regards to alum/admit days in various cities. But, yeah. I'm sure ASD takes quite a bit.

I feel that planning these events are a lot more hectic than we know, thus admissions makes a lot of clerical errors, UT for example offered me travel stipends twice even after awarding me the stipend, and Emory didn't have me on their list for room accommodations even though I reserved months ago. I'd say their plate is quite full.

On that note, I hear scholly info has been emailed out for those who didnt get them in their package. So I'd expect some of y'all can expect letters soon.

"Dear so and so,

Emory Law's Admission Committee has reviewed your application for the fall 2017 incoming class. Based on your strong academic credentials and personal achievements, we invite you to join our priority wait list. We also invite you to Explore Emory, an exclusive event for priority wait list candidates, on Friday, April 14.

We maintain a priority wait list of highly qualified applicants to provide opportunities for additional outstanding candidates—like you—to join our community. We anticipate making offers to priority wait list candidates beginning in May and continuing through the summer.

Similar to last year, I fully anticipate admitting numerous students from the priority wait list, and we will have some scholarships available. To alleviate some of the uncertainty of the wait list process, if you are offered a spot at Emory Law and matriculate with us, we will credit your student account for the amount of your non-refundable first deposit to one other school (up to $500)."

It then went on with links to explore emory and other info. Nothing super important.

Hey ~*legaleagles,*~ I'm a current 1L, and like a few of my classmates before me, I'd love to answer any questions you may have about Emory, Atlanta, or law school in general.
I was on the priority WL around this time last year, so if any WL'ers have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM

Checking in w/ a regular waitlist. More disappointed than I thought I'd be. I'm from the region so I probably could've been swayed to attend w/ an acceptance and decent scholarship.

Wondering the same. Was feeling pretty good (considering I expected a rejection) until I read that I'm now on the second-string WL.

Anyone know if there is a chance of even getting a scholarship off the WL? Seems now like that would be given to priority WL applicants.

Why does the admissions office come off as incredibly unorganized, specifically the student reps?
Hi Ood's_brother, I am also a current student at Emory. I am sorry you didn't have an ideal experience with the admission office. What happened that gave you such a negative impression? Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer

Hi! Muchos gracias for taking the time to do this. I'm stuck between UT and Emory (0$ prenegotiation at UT and 144k at Emory) I've got ties in law enforcement here in Atl and really will live comfortably for three years if I stay. I'm wondering if the 5-6% better employment for big law is worth tens of thousands of dollars to choose UT over Emory.

TL;dr emorys employment rate for for big law is worse than a coin toss (I don't expect to be top ten percent, though I will bust my ass to get it, but there's no guarantee). Has there been in improvement from y'alls standpoint in terms of BL employment?
