+1 hahahaha I do know a guy that makes it work with Harvard surprisingly.bbmayes wrote:Totally not doable...secretsquirrel wrote:Ok so I just got accepted the other day 3.3/164 and it's been my dream to live in CO ever since I was 10 years old and climbed my first 14er. Problem is, I have to be back in MN for drill once a month for the Guard and I don't want to transfer states because MN pays up to 36K a year tuition so it would be crazy to throw that away. Plane tickets look to be pretty cheap round trip from Denver to MSP (avg $125 a round trip for a fri-sun trip). My question is would that be entirely unreasonable to go to CO and fly back for drill once a month? I just have no idea how much of a problem that would pose to academics, how much professors would be willing to work with me, and as well as how often flights get cancelled out of Denver etc...

Pretty unimpressed with my scholly offer. Probably going to withdraw as I have vastly better offers other places.

Are people getting offers via email or snail mail? Waiting on $$$ to determine if CU is an option or if I withdraw

Thanks, expecting to hear soon. I have been admitted for about a month so I am probably being a little impatient but I have already received $$ from other schools.jza1994 wrote:Mine came via email.BoyJord wrote:Are people getting offers via email or snail mail? What scholarship offer did they initially give you? I'm going to try and negotiate with my current full/10/10 offer and see if they can do better for the second and third years, although I haven't found much info on if they will.Dodocogon wrote:No dice on my scholarship neg, but they did definitely consider it, for reference.
Glad to hear they at-least considered it, though sorry they didn't up your offer. I'm hoping they'll be a little more flexible with me since I went to undergrad at CU Boulder. and I have three LOR from CU Boulder professors.

How did you go about it? I don't remember seeing a neg section on the letter.Dodocogon wrote:No dice on my scholarship neg, but they did definitely consider it, for reference.

I got mine with my acceptance packet, but I was accepted on 12/20, so not sure if they're still doing it that way. Although, I did get my loan info via email a few days ago.BoyJord wrote:Are people getting offers via email or snail mail? Waiting on $$$ to determine if CU is an option or if I withdraw

I just sent in my reasoning with relevant offers attached - started with their full/10/10 so my hopes weren't that high. Used full rides to other (lower ranked) state schools that made sense for me regionally.Ashleighjarm wrote:How did you go about it? I don't remember seeing a neg section on the letter.

Also - have any of you joined the facebook group for CU?
I'm debating whether or not to join, this and the other schools'. Not sure I want to until I have my final decision from all schools, and final scholarship offers from each....
Thoughts????

I joined. Go for it. There's no reason not to. They post valuable info to the page, and it isn't considered a commitment to the school. It's a private group, so no one knows you joined except the people in the group. Just leave the group of you decide on another school.SolRs wrote:Also - have any of you joined the facebook group for CU?

I'm on the east coast - how long did it take to get the admissions packet post-email generally? Scholarship info within a month?

Have people heard back about scholly info? Been in since mid January and haven't heard anything yet. I was going to wait on $$$ before deciding to withdraw but I'm starting to get so annoyed about the situation that I might withdraw now.

Initial letter was to Dean Jackson, but Alan responded. Soooo no one has any idea of additional scholarships, right?
For 2-3L and for the full. Apparently they give a few full, but I haven't seen anyone post about it, here or on lsn.com.
On another note, anyone planning on attending the open houses?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
