In no way should you let the incompetence (or competence, really) of an admissions department factor into your decision.Pinkpanda24 wrote:Agree 100%hoy456 wrote:yeah this has been a major turnoff.

It doesn't, but I've gotten great offers from better schools and would have liked to hear from UIUC by now. It's just frustrating but not a factor in my decision.guybourdin wrote:In no way should you let the incompetence (or competence, really) of an admissions department factor into your decision.Pinkpanda24 wrote:Agree 100%hoy456 wrote:yeah this has been a major turnoff.

As a regional school, being the slowest admin department in the region will certainly damage the school's imagePinkpanda24 wrote:It doesn't, but I've gotten great offers from better schools and would have liked to hear from UIUC by now. For what it's worth, a few weeks ago they put another batch of apps in review just before they released some more decisions. I see that somebody on here was just put in review so maybe that means more decisions soon.
Lol

No, not definitely going at this point, though it's a good option.guybourdin wrote:Same, would like to know your overall impression. Your definitely going?Pinkpanda24 wrote:Cool! What did you think?carasrook wrote:I visited last week if anyone has any questions!
Urbana-Champaign really is in the middle of nowhere...but I'm spoiled because I went to undergrad in a major city and have never not lived in a major city. That's the big thing holding me back.
The building itself seems generally independent from undergrads. It's old, but nice enough. Everyone seemed SOOO friendly which each other, which really got me. They all seemed like they were friends. In it together. My tour guide was awesome. She's already got a big law job lined up...which was persuasive. I walked away with a really positive impression I suppose except for the location of the school, which is a big one

At this point I could not give a shit less because I am not even considering them anymore. I do not even care to rescind my application. I have heard back from every single school, including t-14's that I applied to 3 weeks after UIUC. Not to sound petty but come on...not acceptable.

Anyone being offered full tuition care to share their stats? I did my undergrad at UIUC, have LORs from UIUC professors, and am above their 75s so I'm hoping for a similar offer

Got in today! From Mass and applied to 9 schools. UofI came out of nowhere with a $40K/year scholarship so I'm pumped. Definitely coming out for the ASD March 31. Two of my friends are L2s there and love it. Debating full-time law at UofI or staying in Boston and working while attending law school at night.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
