I'll be at the admitted students dinner/event in DC next week, if anyone else will be there!
Congrats! Also just got in via voicemail. She mentioned the DC reception; I will probably call back to get details. Were you told where it will be held?
When did you go UR?
No idea :(

In my scholarship package, the amount I received was stated to apply towards my non-resident tuition amount. However, the scholarship amount brings the COA down to significantly below resident tuition. I'm wondering if after a year of living in the state, will I have to get resident tuition? The scholarship seems to build in incentive to NOT get the resident tuition rate, but I don't know if it's possible to avoid. Any insight?

I talked to an admissions rep about that, and apparently its pretty hard to qualify for in-state tuition at Minnesota. It's not like other schools where just living in the state for 12 months will qualify you for it. A small number of students have been successful at getting in-state tuition by getting MN license plates, buying a house, etc, but basically, don't count on it.

Good to know. Given the nature of my scholarship I would not want to get resident tutition, so as long as I can avoid it I should be fine, which is a weird problem to have haha.

Yeah, I'll be there. Did you receive any info on it yet? Wondering what time we are supposed to show up.

Well even if they do hopefully the letters don't take too long! In my call I was told they'd mail mine out tomorrow.

In via call just now. My status checker never gave any updates other than In Review on 1/27 (but it didn't have the date).

Does Minnesota offer more than full tuition schollies? It says on the website that they don't but LSN info for this year contradicts that.

They haven't in the past according to their aba 509. I was also told by a member of the admissions team that full ride is as high as they go.

Did y'all get an email after your phone call?\

Haven't gotten one or my packet and I'm getting a little worried.

I got a packet with everything in it about a week after the call. If it's been more than a couple of weeks since you got the call, I'd contact the admissions office - they're exceptionally nice people :)

$750, April 21st. Pretty sure there is only one seat deposit.

Got my packet in the mail and got 78K. This is really astonishing to me with my numbers. I'm wondering if it isn't because I'm hispanic. Any native Minnesotans want to shed some light for me? How is the diversity up there?

Can we view our scholarship letter on the admitted students website? I can't find it.

There is definitely a Hispanic community in the Twin Cities. Not anything crazy large (I mean, we are very far north) but it's not insubstantial either!

Congrats, either way!

Has anyone gotten their scholarship reconsidered yet? I am just curious about the turnaround time.
