First TLS'er to blackout/puke at Finn's? (This does not condone binge-drinking).

I just got the email last night, offering me approximately 60K in loans. I know that they said they wouldn't be giving out schollys/grants till after March 15...but does this mean I'm not getting anything?

Also, it said I'd have to accept by April 7th, or be at risk of cancellation. Does this mean We'll have our scholly offers by then? Doesn't leave much time for negotiation...

The email said that, or your fin. aid award on the site? I'm pretty UW Law said the financial offerings of the university are independent of UW Law's scholarships.

My apologies, I got an email from the office of student financial aid that told me to log on to my MyUW. Once there, I clicked on the 'Financial Aid Status' and under awards, I saw two separate loans totaling to the above amount, stating I had until the 7th to accept.

Is anybody else concerned that scholarships come out so close to the deposit deadline? On the bright side, all UW students get a dual degree: JD/Hoop jumping

Yeah, this definitely isn't ideal. The deadline deposit for a fee of my schools is mid April...and I'd love to know where I stand with UW before that. I know they don't really negotiate, but I'd still like to give it a shot.

Finally got through. The guy was pretty rude, and to top the whole experience off there was only information about the loans I can take out to attend. I'm wondering if I won't receive any merit-based aid now.

Hung up after twenty minutes on hold. Nobody's got time for that. Who thought this process was a good idea??

Just crossed the 45 minutes on hold mark, wanting to escalate beyond the lego treatment.

I sent an email to the admissions office and asked whether or not merit or need-based grants would be reflected in the initial award package we all just got. Dean Le said that our award packages wouldn't reflect any potential grants and that they're planning on releasing that information the week after the scholarship application deadline.

Kind of a weird way of doing things (yet again) but happy to hear there's still some hope.

That's reassuring. So well know within the next two weeks or so, hopefully before ASW

Yeah sounds like two weeks from today at the latest, which is great.

Just spoke with admissions on the phone. Nice lady confirmed that I'd only find out about gov't loan offers today, and not $cholly amount. She also suggested I not even bother calling the Registrar's office today to obtain my PAC (required to create UW NetID) until Monday, because "around 40,000 students received financial aid letters today", and the Registrar is swamped with phone calls. TRULY, I dare say, an asinine system.

OK so I'm looking at the instructions for the Gregoire Fellows application... Does this mean what I think it means?

Could've let us know in the initial email and saved us the time on hold, but whateva. Your info is appreciated anyways.
