Anyone here try multiple scholarship negotiations? I need every penny I can. I tried and I'm waiting to hear back, interested in seeing if anyone else here did. I was told I'd hear back early May from fin aid office if any money was left but seeing if anyone else had similar experiences.

So I got an invite to apply to GW last week and a fee waiver. They're obviously not making money off of my application, and previously thought I didn't have the scores to get in there. Is it worth it to apply this week? I have til 5/5.

They sent that to another TLSer who asked earlier, I think they passed. Up to you, but obviously odds are lower at this point in the game... if you have $30 burning a hole in your pocket and are unhappy with where you deposited then sure?adbbb13 wrote:So I got an invite to apply to GW last week and a fee waiver. Hello Guys, Is anyone aware of GW Law's deferral policy? specifically, how easy or tough it is to get a deferral? And whether it would be possible to retain the scholarship upon deferral? Any inputs would be useful. I would obviously check with the admissions office. But I want to get an idea before going to them with a request for deferral. Thanks all.

Same, I just jumped from 60k to 144k. LOL. I did have a better LSAT score that they hadn't considered so that might have factored in...

Guys, those of you who are sure of not attending, please withdraw and toss back the money. I deposited and yet wrote back for an increase because my financial calculations are not working out. I was told they've just handed out increases and asked me to write back later, before second deposit. However I am an international and can't wait that long to make a decision (visa, loans, spouses career etc) . So am planning to ask them for a deferral so that I can work and earn. But if you guys free up some money, I might get some.

To correct the record:
From the Office of Admissions "There have been no full tuition scholarships offered except through our binding Presidential, which concluded in February. To offer them this late in the cycle to those that did not apply through the binding program would destroy the integrity of the Presidential program."

Incoming GWU Law 1L Students. Just made a Incoming Student Facebook page, was surprised Admissions hadn't made one already.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/gwlaw2020
Was originally searching for one for the purposes of asking if anyone else who is trying to live in The Aston has successfully navigated their website that the incoming GWU undergrad website seem to be overwhelming. Feel free to join, add anyone else who is joining. If you are the kind of person that likes to admin things, let me know and I will add you. Group is currently public, if anyone would rather it be private, let me know here or there.
This should be handy for:
-roommates
-confusion about missives from the law school
-study groups
-general griping

Well could you post a link? I tried every search term I could think of to find it, if there already is a better one I'll take down this one.kaptainkeepa wrote:There already is one LOL!lawstudent365 wrote:Incoming GWU Law 1L Students. For those who applied late, how long were you in review before you received a decision?

Rejected my request to bump up my scholarship. They claim there was too many requests this year. Is it worth it to try and ask again?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
