Yep! Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I asked Cornell for a fee waiver via email on September 17th, and received one on September 20th.call-me-bubbles wrote:I'm applying to 11 of the T14. I e-mailed all 11 schools back in August to request a merit- or need-based fee waiver. Excluding HYS and Columbia, I ended up with fee waivers from all of these schools EXCEPT Cornell, who never responded. The consensus on TLS seems to be that Cornell hasn't given any fee waivers yet at all this cycle. I'm planning to wait another few weeks, and if I've still not heard anything, I think I'll go ahead and submit without a waiver, since I don't want to pester Admissions.LawschoolHopeful2k16 wrote:Seconded.TexasENG wrote:Checking in. I had hoped that after their application opened they would start sending fee waivers.
Does anyone know if they give them out based on CRS data? Or if asking them works?
Also, does anyone know those answers but for Cornell?
The only schools in the top 20 I haven't gotten them for are the top 5 and then cornell and georgetown. Not getting them from the top 5, where I'm under-qualified, makes sense, but I'm still puzzled as to why I didn't receive them from Georgetown and Cornell.
Does anyone have any insight into whether or not Cornell has historically given fee waivers, though, and -- if so -- when?
Edit: It seems at least one other person posting in the "Unsolicited Fee Waivers 2017" thread has also successfully solicited from Cornell.

On last year's thread, that seems to have meant that the applicants were about to receive decisions.. But don't quote me on that- I'm not sure that this is the same thing.taxman14 wrote:tylergreenandgold wrote:Not sure what this means, but my box went blank today...

By "box went blank" do you mean your status disappeared? If so, mine did the same today.

My box went blank today too!
So last year once the box went blank that meant the decision was about to be made?

I'm the same way. FWIW glancing at the thread from last year, looks like folks noticed these changes either the day of or the day before they received a letter from GTOWN - but 10/5 still seems a bit early for them... guess we will see!potterotter wrote:My entire page is blank. The only fields that are filled in are the basic demographic ones and the letters of rec.

I might be an idiot, but how are you guys looking through the 2019 page? About half, if not more, of the posts are removed. Is there a way to see that or are you just sifting through the rubble.
