I'm a 166 and still haven't heard anything. Crap GPA tho. Here's hoping they need my LSAT more than your GPA lol. Just kidding, good luck everyone!

Dudes, I submitted in Jan with an lsat that is, let's just say, >>>>>>75th and good GPA - nothing. Don't think this can be rationalized

They gave me a very thorough and polite response that pretty much said there's no way we will adjust your scholarship, but you should look at applying to outside scholarships. It also took quite a while to get a response, which I suppose is reasonable considering it is a busy time of year for them.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Just wanted to confirm that nobody has successfully negotiated scholarship with Vandy? Okay, so my deposit for my second choice is due on Friday.
I've been complete since 1/10 with crickets. Is it worth sending an email expressing that Vandy is very much my first choice but I have a deposit deadline fast approaching elsewhere? Would that just be annoying? I'm a fairly low to mid-range applicant if it matters, so they're not holding off on me because of a YP or anything.

You're allowed to deposit elsewhere whilst waiting for other responses from schools. Only if you haven't received a decision from them yet (WL notwithstanding).BostonOrBust wrote:Okay, so my deposit for my second choice is due on Friday.

Is it rude to submit an expedited decision request? At another school I applied to they mentioned that I could do this, but that seems a bit aggressive. I just don't want to waste money on seat deposits if I don't have to though. Vandy is like one of the last schools I'm waiting to hear back from along with UM.

If I don't hear back from them by Sunday I will have trouble submitting a seat deposit because I will be off the grid all of next week

Fwiw I had written to them requesting for reconsideration of scholarship a couple of weeks ago. Got a reply last week. Was a very polite and detailed response denying it. Was given details of external scholarships, possibility of maintaining lower expenses and the like. Much better than an immediate one liner from Emory.
Vandy remains a tough choice for me to make.

I found out today that I was promoted at work to a role handling all of my organization's legislative involvement and coordinating our legal services wing. I'm still waiting on a decision. Should I email and reiterate my interest and share my promotion? I can't imagine that I would make a substantive difference at this point, what do others think?

I just emailed them today with a LOCI style email. Basically updated them on what I've been doing the last three or so months. I applied early January and haven't heard anything so I just figured I didn't have anything to lose by emailing them and wanted to remind them that I exist. They responded within 10 minutes with a "thanks for the update, we'll add this to your file".BostonOrBust wrote:I found out today that I was promoted at work to a role handling all of my organization's legislative involvement and coordinating our legal services wing. Still waiting. The only school I'm waiting on anymore. 75th LSAT, <~50th GPA. I am getting antsy.
I'm guessing it'll be after the seat deposit deadline at this point. And I'm kinda hoping that's the case cause I want to be able to see the school.

I thought so, too, but people have been getting notifications that they were held which makes me think that if people had been explicitly selected to be held until after they deadline, they'd get hold notifications. So maybe we'll see movement in the next week. LSN reports a few waitlist notifications today. I personally feel a little better seeing your numbers-- I figured they were dragging their feet because I was unremarkable and would end up getting rejected in the long run. Unlikely to be the case for someone with your numbers, so maybe I still have a shot, too.njdevils327 wrote:Still waiting. The only school I'm waiting on anymore. 75th LSAT, <~50th GPA. It's been over four months for me now. I've had relationships last less time. Love me or leave me, Vandy.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
