Is full suit and tie too much for the interview?

Some might say it is - I wouldn't argue - but I wouldn't feel comfortable in anything less than a full suit.aaron1621 wrote:Is full suit and tie too much for the interview?

How have everyone's interviews been so far? I should be hearing about when mine is soon.

Wait, you won't get an email like "Here's when and where your interview is"?fips tedora wrote:Your status checker will change, that's about it. Are you doing an alumni interview? I think above person misunderstood your question.SweetTort wrote:Wait, you won't get an email like "Here's when and where your interview is"?fips tedora wrote:Your status checker will change, that's about it. Generally seems to be a few business days (I waited 3 days to hear back), though I think a few people this cycle didn't hear back for two weeks. Might depend on the region you're in.SweetTort wrote:Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back once you finish the interview form?

Just submitted the request for an alumni interview. One of my top choices as I enjoyed the time I spent in Nashville and could see myself living there beyond law school.

They say to email after two weeks if you haven't hear anything. That happened with me (even though I'm in a major city) and they were really helpful checking in on it. Turned out my original interviewer ended up not being able to do the interview which is why I never got assigned anything so they assigned me a new one and got it sorted out. Some people hear back within a few days, some have to follow up with admissions, but for the latter they are nice and helpful so don't be afraid to reach out.SweetTort wrote:Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back once you finish the interview form?

3.94/164, should I apply?
My main schools are Bama and UGA, so I'm not retaking since I'm above both of their medians. Vandy is just a reach.

Interviewed this week and it was great. Echoing what others have said that it was very laid back. Asked why law and why Vandy and 1 or 2 formal interview type questions, and then it was opened up to chatting about interviewer's experience at Vandy/living in Nashville in general and law school in general. Really nice, really helpful, nothing to stress too much about as long as you are prepared for those first couple questions.)pirate101 wrote:How have everyone's interviews been so far? You'll probably get in with a decent scholarship, given those numbers. Check out Lawschoolnumbers.commstatelawdawg wrote:3.94/164, should I apply?

GPA is above 75th and LSAT between 25th and median, so Vandy isn't out of the question. Worth a shot.mstatelawdawg wrote:3.94/164, should I apply?

I requested an interview a while ago and promptly got a confirmation, but haven't heard from an interviewer. How many days after the request/how many days before the interview date should I contact admissions about it?
Also, the website just says I requested a date for an interview, but doesn't mention a confirmation nor an interviewer.

My interview went really well this week; it's definitely laid back. The interviewer never actually asked "Why Vandy?", but asked "Why a JD?", and then challenged my answer, so it's worth being super clear on that question too!

It's not specified, I think 11 or 12 is fine (I'm doing 11).Rubbishdump wrote:Does anyone know the font size requirement for the PS?

Was just asked to interview and scheduled it for next week. Any advice? What sorts of things did they ask those of you who have interviewed?

For me it was incredibly informal and more of them selling the school than them asking q's.cherrygalore wrote:Was just asked to interview and scheduled it for next week. Any advice? What sorts of things did they ask those of you who have interviewed?

Re: Vanderbilt Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So, my interview is on this Saturday, but I still haven't had an interviewer reach out to me. I emailed this weekend about it, and they noted that I should upload my resume and that a reminder is usually sent a few days beforehand.
Based on this thread, though, it looks like most of you were contacted much more in advance than a few days--could this be because I didn't upload my resume until today (I had to wait to get it checked over by someone)? I'm not sure if I should be worried or not and if I should email again tomorrow afternoon or wait until Friday.
