Applied on the 23rd of August, interviewed September 20th. Do we get an email updating us when our interviewer submits our assessment?

Alum interview next month. Awesome school, if you're extremely social.

Does anyone know what stats get money and how much?
For LSAT>75% & 25%>GPA>75% in particular, but its also just interesting to know the info.

And does anyone know if the interview is more of an evaluation or more relaxed and informative?

I did the interview in D.C. last year. The guy was really nice. We met at a Starbucks and had a really informal conversation. He was really just trying to pitch Vanderbilt to me more than anything else. He talked about how like 2/3 class can do LR and how because it's small it has a strong sense of community. He said D.C. was really hard to get, but manageable with persistence, and that he really just lucked out. He advised me that Vandy was mostly focused on southern employment, but that grads can go anywhere, though it might take a lot of hustle to do so. He also said that if I had any questions about applications, even outside of Vandy, he would be happy to help. Was definitely business casual.

tl;dr - business casual. laid back.

Had my interview two weeks ago. If yours is anything like mine, it'll be more relaxed and informal than you expect going in. And I anticipated a pretty casual setting.

The alum I interviewed with really talked up the social scene (which might be unusual), but they're going to pitch the school's programs heavily too. I'd recommend just being personable and trying to enjoy it. The alum is there to sell you on the school, so they're going to talk up their own experiences there. Just use that as a springboard to ask questions or maybe give them a better idea about yourself; my alum was highlighting programs or orgs at the school that would fit my goals and hobbies.

As far as questions go, I'd recommend asking them about their job search and how they got placed in whichever region they ended up at, especially if it's the same region you'd like to end up in. The guy I spoke with talked a lot about getting to California from Vandy, so I gleaned a lot of valuable info from that.

Nice! Did he specify any places in the South?

I don't remember if he did or not. I think he just spoke generally, I guess from his experience with classmates, but told me that his focus was on D.C. so that's what he really knew most about.

Checking in. Not sure where Vandy fits on my list, but my brother is a prof at the med school there, and it'd be a nice to go to school in the same city as family. Nashville seems cool too and, for southern employment, I think Vandy greatly outperforms Emory--so, there's that too.

Come to think of it, sounds like I need to look at Vandy a lot harder than I was thinking. 8)

Employment stats are decent for not just the south, and Nashville is an incredible capitol city. Also too, if you're extroverted and into socializing, Vandy is right up there with UVA.

For those who interviewed here or elsewhere already -- should I bring my resume in a fancy leather folder? Or is a regular folder okay?

I thought they were given a copy of your resume. What was the point of downloading it to the Vandy interview portal thing?

Sometimes they didn't print it, that's what happened to me and they asked if I had a copy of the resume and I did. It's better to be safer than sorry.

It's pretty standard interview prep to have extra copies of your resume, so I would suggest it to be safe. Also, I think the portal somewhere mentioned that.

Regular folder is fine.
Thank you! Thoughts on printing it on bond paper versus regular paper?
