Thanks! Did you find out your scholarship offer at the time of your acceptance?paisa_sandia wrote:I got accepted on Friday with $25K/year. It surprised me given how late they came with the offer, but I'm committed elsewhere so I went ahead and withdrew. Hoping that finds its way to you!JRP1994 wrote:What are the odds of getting accepted and getting anything close to a $25-30k/yr scholarship this late in the game? That's probably what I'd need to make Vandy work, because I've got a Top 30 school offer on the table that's $20k/yr total tuition.

Ha, I actually got the scholarship offer a couple minutes before the actual admissions email. Made for a short period of confusion.JRP1994 wrote:Thanks! And did your online status ever update to reflect your application being under review, or did it go directly from "complete" to the decision?paisa_sandia wrote:Ha, I actually got the scholarship offer a couple minutes before the actual admissions email. I honestly didn't keep close tabs on it. I believe it did list me as being under review for some period of time, but I couldn't say exactly how long.JRP1994 wrote:And did your online status ever update to reflect your application being under review, or did it go directly from "complete" to the decision?paisa_sandia wrote:Ha, I actually got the scholarship offer a couple minutes before the actual admissions email. Right?!?! Honestly I'm over here like, "We know you'll ding me anyway, I figured that out way quicker than 16 weeks." Maybe this is punishment for not attending after applying in UG. Maybe they're testing to see that we are loyal and true. Others would have withdrawn, but we're a regular bunch of Hufflepuffs over here.
A third LOCI is probably overkill... right?

Hello Guys, Is anyone aware of Vandy's deferral policy? specifically, how easy or tough it is to get a deferral? And whether it would be possible to retain the scholarship upon deferral? Any inputs would be useful. I would obviously check with the admissions office. But I want to get an idea before going to them with a request for deferral. Thanks all.

Re: Vanderbilt Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
if you have a good offer from another similarly ranked (or higher ranked) school, go there. A current student told me the legal writing department absolutely sucks here. Not pass or fail, and apparently they don't actually teach students how to write. they use a hide the ball kind of strategy, then they grade you on a curve.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
