App complete 12/19, nothing since. Vandy idk if you think this is funny, but it isn't. This wait is bad and you should feel bad.

I am honestly beginning to think this is some sort of "chicken" game where Vandy is waiting to see how long we will wait before we just withdraw.
"If we wait long enough everyone will withdraw and we wont have to make any decisions about on-the-bubble candidates.
Well Vandy, I see through you. I am still here.

It also could be them seeing how many people deposit so they can better fill their class size.BoyJord wrote:I am honestly beginning to think this is some sort of "chicken" game where Vandy is waiting to see how long we will wait before we just withdraw.

They do rolling admissions, and they want to protect their yield, so it's not a surprise that they are holding off until deposits are closer.notsolawful wrote:It also could be them seeing how many people deposit so they can better fill their class size.BoyJord wrote:I am honestly beginning to think this is some sort of "chicken" game where Vandy is waiting to see how long we will wait before we just withdraw.

Just a heads up, I called Admissions today and they said they are going by date of completion and have not gotten to 1/04 yet (which is my date) and it could be another 2-3 weeks before a decision is rendered.

Absolutely believe that this is what you were told (and I'm glad you asked!) but I am wondering how much truth there is to this simply because if you go to LSN and sort by complete date and go to the early January range, many/most people who went complete through 1/7 or 1/8 have a decision, most of them made up to a month ago. People have decisions here and there far after that date (into feb,) and not just obvious 180, 4.0 acceptances but some borderliners with a range of accept/deny/wl.
Not trying to scare you or anything as I'm in the same position lol. Just trying to sniff out the truth in their vague answers and the method to their madness. Anything to convince myself I'm not holding out for another 2-3 weeks.

Well damn haha my completion date is a week later than yours. This wait has been agonizingly long.A_Faus95 wrote:Just a heads up, I called Admissions today and they said they are going by date of completion and have not gotten to 1/04 yet (which is my date) and it could be another 2-3 weeks before a decision is rendered.

I went complete in October, so I doubt they are going strictly by the completion date

The fact that they haven't even touched some applications three months after submitting with their own and other school's seat deposits right around the corner? Crazy

It just seems very unprofessional. I get that it's a long process, and it's not like other schools aren't being slow, but it just seems like Vanderbilt is leaving way more people in limbo than other schools. Mini rant over.njdevils327 wrote:This is honestly just so unprofessional.A_Faus95 wrote:Just a heads up, I called Admissions today and they said they are going by date of completion and have not gotten to 1/04 yet (which is my date) and it could be another 2-3 weeks before a decision is rendered.
