Spoke with Ian McInnis from the admissions office last week he told me the class is full, and WL movement would only happen if people that deposited at UF get in off other WLs and leave. Seems weird that they would just leave people hanging with this massive waitlist and leave others on no decision made. GL to everyone, I'll be headed to another school.

This disappoints me but it doesn't surprise me. I spent hard earned money on applying, with CAS fees and app fees. I think that warrants me an answer of some sort at the very least.

Does anyone read into anything about them wailtisting more people this late in the game? I feel like they are expecting people to withdraw or they wouldn't waste their time waitlisting more people. I just don't understand considering I got waitlisted over a month ago and they are still waitlisting more people now.

I think they're just waitlisting people at this point to simply provide a "decision", I don't think they're anticipating an unusually large number of withdrawals at all.

Did anyone else get the Waitlist Update #1 email? They claim that the use of the waitlist has been “negligible”. Does anyone else feel like that is a fallacy based purely on the number of people reporting to TLS and LSN?

I got this email too ...would they bother sending waitlist updates if they expected little to no more movement there?

There had been a quick wave of WL admits the week the first WL happened, but after that there has only been cricket noises, so I would say it sounds about right. Mind you, the first wave happened pn 4/24 and its 2 months way past that. After June 22, unless many UF seat deposits suddenly get accepted to an ivy or their dream school suddenly, I think its safe to say the gator cycle for 2020 is over.

Applied in mid-November. Admitted March 27, 2017. Applied with a 3.92 GPA, 151 LSAT, UF undergrad, strong resume, strong personal statement, no diversity statement. Really confused as to how my peers with GPA's in the 3.8 area and significantly higher LSAT's were waitlisted. Does that make any sense? Granted, I did submit a convincing LSAT addendum.

Sometimes it's just not all about the LSAT. Maybe they appreciate a great GPA as Emory does. I have the same GPA and little higher LSAT (156) and also got into UF with a nice scholly and Emory with a scholly. I'm an older student with professional work experience and I submitted a strong application. It also depends on the year. FSU seems to be into LSAT this year. I got in last year in about 10 days and this year they waitlisted me. There isn't always a cut and dry answer as to why an individual gets in over another. I think sometimes it is just holistic and they see something in an individual that they think will contribute positively to the class at least that's what I've been told by Dean's who have written notes on my acceptance letters.

I'm Iranian. But I had to classify as white on the UF application.

Congratulations! I was priority waitlisted at Emory, but didn't expect anymore with a 151 LSAT. I was disappointed by UF's admission process this cycle - which is not at all rolling. I wasn't awarded a scholarship because I was told there was none remaining at the time that I was admitted. I applied in mid-November and would think that that's early enough to receive scholarship money. Like I said though, I wasn't admitted until March. I also submitted 4 letters of recommendation - all of which were extremely strong. If they read those, I'm sure they had a lot to do with my admission decision. I'm so surprised to hear that you were waitlisted by FSU with a 3.92 GPA and 156 LSAT. UF Law is ranked higher that FSU Law anyway. I know that I'm qualified to be admitted to UF (stats aside), but it just feels strange when you have peers with stronger stats that were waitlisted.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
