Got hit with the WL email this morning. Sucks because Texas is my alma mater. Well, I can go to Columbia in peace now. Checking out!

Checking out and withdrew my application yesterday. Good luck to everybody, hopefully the spot goes to one of you all! Obviously kinda salty because I loved UT lol.
I'm reluctant to withdraw because I loved UT, but I'm also feeling burned by the initial and continued low-ball and don't think I can make this one work financially. Good luck to everyone else!
I agree. I do not think this is a good strategy to woo students.poptart123 wrote: For anybody in admission reading these forms: The UT scholarship thing is really annoying and a large turn off when considering the school. I really like UT, but you could please not do this?
+1000 I loved UT and think Austin is dope, but a lowball offer with a deadline of 5 business days is a no-go for me.

Driving me crazy that I haven't heard anything yet. I haven't been asked for a "Why Texas?" thing yet either, was that something I should have been asked for if I was seriously being considered?

Was hoping since Friday was the seat deposit we'd here back today after they got some withdrawals.latewaiter17 wrote:at what point do we call and ask what the fuck is happening since the deposit deadline has already passed? Fwiw, the wave of people accepted last monday have an extended deadline that is April 24th so they might be waiting for thattexasshopeful wrote:Also still UR, from the looks of LSN there's a few of us. not sure if that's a good sign or not. ...still pending. I figured nothing would happen today, I read somewhere that the deadline Friday was a soft deadline and really they had until Sunday night. Which makes sense... I figure today and tomorrow they would be sorting through those.

Waitlisted as of this morning...which I'm actually excited about since it's better than a rejection!:) the email said I can add/submit more info to my application, so I'm gonna write one of those "Why Texas" statements. Anyone know how I would submit that though?

Yeah, I would save your letter as a PDF and send it as an email attachment. (or at least that's what I did...)lawstboys wrote:Tx878 wrote:lawstboys wrote:Waitlisted as of this morning...which I'm actually excited about since it's better than a rejection!:) the email said I can add/submit more info to my application, so I'm gonna write one of those "Why Texas" statements. For some reason, I received a "welcome to the Texas Law Fb group" message this morning via email. And it says "please let us know if your name does not match your fb name." But it shows I am still under review. So I am accepted, or this is a mistake on their part?

I've heard a few people on here say they got those before they got the call. So that might be the case and you'll get the acceptance call soon. It seems the order of getting all the stuff can be weird- I didn't get those emails until about two weeks after I got in. That would be a super frustrating mistake on their part.
