That'd be great. I'm sitting complete since early Nov. Good luck!
Wow! I've only been waiting since early January, but it's my top choice so I'm getting impatient. Good luck to you too!
Yeah. Weirdly long wait given my PS and Why Texas? essay. I would have expected to hear back, even if it were a WL or ding.
Visited early last week and was told by the student at the front desk that "I should be hearing from UT soon..." I'm hoping their definition of soon is within 2 weeks lol

Received Why Texas solicitation on Friday, submitted it yesterday, just got the call!

Very excited but holding my breath to see what kind of $ they offer. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I applied 2/28, FWIW.

For those who have been, how necessary is the ASD if I already know I will be attending Texas? I had planned on skipping the event, but my schedule just cleared and now I have the time to go. I am hesitant because (1) I have already visited (twice) and taken the tour/class visits, (2) I have several friends who already attend UT who have offered to let me shadow them/give me a good idea about the student life, and (3) I have already planned a trip accounting for the time off I would have to take to go to the ASD, so I would have to rearrange my travel plans. If it is more than worth it I can go, but for the reasons listed above I want to make sure it is worth it. Thanks!

If you're already going to matriculate, it's not worth it.
ASW's are all fluff anyways.

trawling for opinions on my situation: i'm already in at a few higher-ranked schools and i was asked to submit a "Why Texas?" essay by this Friday. my non-law school friends are telling me not to bother writing more for UT, but i'm still trying to keep my options open and wondering if UT will offer me a good amount of $$, given that UCLA is offering $100k and i have very strong ties to Austin/TX (sixth generation Texan born and raised near UT campus but have lived elsewhere for the past 7 years, a sort of prodigal son situation).

i know y'all are probably wanting me to withdraw to free up space in UT 2020 but i'm just totally unsure of what to do. does UT offer good money?

If you think you would want to live in Texas/want to give UT a shot, I would definitely write a Why Texas. I am in kind of the same situation (I wasn't raised in Texas but my whole family is from Texas), and they gave me decent money that is definitely putting them at the top of my list over some higher ranked schools. It is a well-respected school, has tons of programs, and the campus culture was great. But, if you know you definitely wouldn't go, maybe don't bother writing one.

I think you'd get good money from UT.
The question is would you always take T13 money or H (congrats!) over it?

only way to find out if they will offer you good money is to write the essay. there is no down side to writing it

I mean it doesn't hurt to have more options.
Them asking you to write it is moreso just a yield protect test. They're probably just looking to see if you give enough of a shit to spend 20 minutes writing it. It seems that the people who did it got accepted pretty quickly afterwards, so it seems like just a formality really. You could definitely make a strong case since you have TX ties.

No scholarship info 2-weeks after acceptance, safe to assume that I won't be getting anything?

it's usually 2-3 weeks post acceptance. It took like 2.5 weeks for me to get my offer. If you get nothing they will still send you an email.

Submitted my renegotiation recently w/ my leverage coming from a few offers, but most notably from my huge WUSTL scholly. I feel like they probably see a lot of similar renegotiation requests- they're similarly ranked schools, and WUSTL is very generous. Will update you when I have a response.

Question: who is still pending a decision? And if you're pending are you a TX resident? And are you below 75th/50th/25th? URM?

...just trying to figure out the madness.

Still pending! Complete early Jan, Texas resident. 25<LSAT<50; 75<GPA. Not URM.

I'm wondering why they haven't just waitlisted us because it feels like that's pretty much what we are... I would just like SOME kind of communication at this point!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
