1L here. I have a couple classmates who were admitted off the waitlist DURING orientation. They had already planned on going to other schools, then dropped everything and came here. Very much up to you if you want to hold out hope that far.melmelcoolj wrote:Are they done with the waitlist? Holding back tears.BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Any more acceptances from the waitlist?

Thanks for the encouragement. But I don't think that is necessarily viable for me - I am an international student, and I cannot just switch schools myself without actually going through the visa application process. So I will wait till mid July, and anything beyond that would be too late.cantexplaingottago wrote:1L here. I have a couple classmates who were admitted off the waitlist DURING orientation. I'm sort of coming to the reality that if I am to gain admission, it will probably be this late ^^ If you don't mind me asking, were your classmates able to make that adjustment smoothly? (in terms of the housing lease they might have signed at their original school and also finding housing in Ithaca on such short notice.)

I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. I learned about their situations at the beginning of the year when we were all still getting to know each other, and I honestly don't remember who it was who told me in the sea of new faces. Finding housing that late won't be great, but it's doable.chris23topher wrote:(in terms of the housing lease they might have signed at their original school and also finding housing in Ithaca on such short notice.)

I got notification that my email (net ID) had been mailed to me on 5/5 last year. I think I finally got the letter mid-May? We received our class schedules on 8/8.Rubbishdump wrote:When do we get student accounts, emails, etc.?

I received an email from Cornell that basically says "email me in a week for admission opportunities." Is this even a feeler email, since the email explicitly states that there are no opportunities now? I guess Cornell pities me...finally.

Went to UG there. I imagine getting housing that late in the summer will be an absolute pain. You'll probably be hoofing it up a pretty steep hill I suspect.

I have received my scholarship funding but no word on federal loans even tho I completed FAFSA. I think we just have to wait until later.uhwrestler wrote:i applied for federal loans through fafsa over a month ago....but i havnt heard back from cornell yet?

It seems they are mostly short on URMs this cycle. Funny they told me there are not spots available now, when they offered a spot to another person. HAHA.proteinshake wrote:.

The Fb page has a recent post from Dean Ingram saying NetIDs will be issued from May 15 onwards. Possible for some to have got it already.Rubbishdump wrote:Seems that someone else didfreekick wrote:I haven't.
