Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Received scholarship info earlier today. $150,000 over 3 years, so $50,000 a year. This was a lot more than what I was expecting to receive and it's quite thrilling to have this in my back pocket now.
Without sounding obnoxious, tuition at Cornell is roughly $60,000 a year. When it comes time to negotiate, can I ask for more, or is it in bad form when they've already given me so much?

Which is better, the person in charge of scholarships not thinking you're in bad form, or them thinking you're in bad form and considering giving you $30k more?ReadyToStart wrote:Received scholarship info earlier today. $150,000 over 3 years, so $50,000 a year. I've been sitting at "Your application is ready for review." since 12/12. I submitted on 11/10. Is this normal? Should I call?

I think that's their way of saying it's under review. I have roughly the same dates as you and the dates changed twice but still said "app ready for review"!BigBear wrote:I've been sitting at "Your application is ready for review." since 12/12. I submitted on 11/10. Is this normal? Should I call?

Same here. Tried checking out their site to look for last year's 25/75 (after that disturbing massacre a few days back) numbers and it's down.call-me-bubbles wrote:Anyone else getting sass from Cornell's website? Went to refresh the status-checker, and now it's all, "Error Occurred While Processing Request." FML Cornell why...

For those who applied for merit/need aid and emailed your returns/scholarship application form to the financial aid office: did you receive a receipt confirmation?

How long did it take you guys to get an email with the status check link/password after you submitted? Every law school I've applied to so far has sent me that email within 24 hours but I haven't heard anything from Cornell yet...

No confirmation email either.Keilz wrote:For those who applied for merit/need aid and emailed your returns/scholarship application form to the financial aid office: did you receive a receipt confirmation?
In really strange fashion though, they sent me my offer without having ever sent in the necessary tax returns. At this point I'm not sure if I still have to.

omg really? I could've had an offer two months ago then it was the CSS profile that took me awhile to getReadyToStart wrote:No confirmation email either.Keilz wrote:For those who applied for merit/need aid and emailed your returns/scholarship application form to the financial aid office: did you receive a receipt confirmation?

Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I did the CSS profile and filled out a Fafsa, but the financial aid office told me I had to send in my tax returns separately. I had my parents handy, but not my own, so I was probably going to order it from the IRS today, and then boom, I got the offer last night. It was especially funny because the offer came in about 24 hours after the office told me that I still needed to send in the tax returns. The whole ordeal from application to offer took about 3 days, if you're interested.Keilz wrote:omg really?
