I wonder if they're adding more WLs if people drop from it immediately so that the total will be about 100 at the end of April.

I think more than 100 people are invited to join the WL. The email says, when offers of admission are given from the WL, that they are generally choosing from a pool of ~100. I'm sure some people do not accept spots on the WL, some people withdraw from the WL, etc. This also explains why there are ~50 people on this website reporting that they are on the WL, which seems very disproportionate compared to the number of admits from this website.

Makes sense. I just wonder if they send out 100ish at first, then follow up with x more, where x = number of people who declined the WL offer, and then they keep doing that until the pool runs dry or it stabilizes at about 100.

Has anyone gotten confirmation from YLS after submitting the intent to stay on waitlist form? I know they're probably swamped with other things right now.

Nothing for me, and I'm not expecting anything. Asha said in one of her blogs that she's unlikely to give you receipt confirmation for something you send in.

This is my second time on the waitlist for Yale (do I unlock an achievement for this?), and last year I received a confirmation after 4-5 business days. I would give them a bit more time though because they seem a bit more backlogged this year, but definitely check-in because mine didn't go through to file initially.

Good luck to all! :)

Yikes, this is a horror story. Have you checked in this year as well?

I was operating off that Asha blog post and thinking I should not follow up with them lest they get annoyed and kick me off.

Maybe I should call them up after a few days.

Yup, checked in again. I would give it like a week or so after your confirmation submission though--they're probably very busy at least until deposit deadlines. It took me like a week to get an automated confirmation message last year and that was after resubmitting my form and LOCI at the very end of May (shudder) when activity probably wasn't as high.

Hi All,

Has anyone heard any movement in regards to the waitlist? I recently submitted my form and was wondering if turning your form later hurts your chances. Crossing my fingers for everyone. Honestly, I am just happy to have been offered a spot on the waitlist.
