Received waitlist via mail today. Yield protected. I applied super late (march). Will withdraw to make space for others waiting

Decision made this morning, no email or seat deposits. I know there have been discrepancies in the past, but this was a reach for me so pretty confident it's a WL/ding. Devastated, as ND was my top choice.
Given that they break the "no decisions by email" rule when they send out acceptances, do we think they'd give me my decision over the phone? I don't know if I can wait two weeks for bad news

Same. Oh, well. TBH I wasn't expecting much-- I applied in March (after sending out mostly all of my apps in November) + didn't even do the DKL essay or the Why ND essay.lawdog2017 wrote:Decision made this morning, no email or seat deposits. Ended up being a waitlist! Definitely staying on, anyone have any idea about the likelihood of getting off?

I think on last year's thread, someone posted that NDLS takes about 30 out of 100 off the wait list. So there is probably still a chance of getting in. I hope you do!lawdog2017 wrote:Ended up being a waitlist! Definitely staying on, anyone have any idea about the likelihood of getting off?

So per last year's thread, it looks like the first documented WL acceptance was on Friday April 29th... Maybe we'll see movement soon?
I think notification is more or less the same as it is for regular admittance, so "decision made" on the status checker + snail mail (with seat deposits if accepted), but can anyone confirm?

I know of at least two people who have been admitted off the WL within the last week. One of them being GPA=50 and 25< LSAT<50.thatguy2017 wrote:Anyone on the WL heard anything yet?

Surprised nobody's posted about it in here yet, but in case you're not aware, NDLS professor Amy Barrett has been nominated to an open seat on the Seventh Circuit. If confirmed, she'll be sitting in South Bend, so I'm hopeful she will at least teach a few seminars occasionally still. But she won't be teaching 1Ls anymore (or large classes like evidence). A loss for NDLS, but in the long term definitely a gain, as her presence on the circuit court will definitely help our alums with clerkships.

How late is too late to get good housing around campus?

Everywhere I wanted to live told me that they don't even have openings for August until June/July so I don't think you're that far behind.hoy456 wrote:How late is too late to get good housing around campus?

Can we remain on waitlists after submitting both deposits?

Has anyone heard of any movement on the waitlist recently? Will there be a second wave of acceptances this year?

I got an email checking if I am interested and to schedule a call. I wrote back saying I would consider only if offered a hefty schol.

Did anyone else receive a feeler email last week and then reply/do a phone interview, but not receive an offer yet?
