Not sure if this applies to Berkley but I find schools that have ED options take a lot longer to start admitting RD students because they have to get through their early applications (for instance Chicago hasn't admitted any RD yet)taxman14 wrote:Same here - no clue what's taking so long?CR7 wrote:Nope. Does anyone know if we're allowed to email admissions a "Why Berkeley" addendum after having submitted an application? And is one page the length limit or a certain word count?

Well that's good news! I was just quoting from last year's thread so take everything with a grain of saltVeil of Ignorance wrote:Berkeley's admit rates are nowhere near that low. I think it's something like 25% now. Maybe during the peak years it was closer to 10%Christinabruin wrote:Faculty review means your application is not good enough to be admitted straight by Dean Tom, but you are a relatively strong candidate and the admission committee (comprised of admissions team, students, and faculty) will take a look at your application again. The tls consensus is there is about 13% chance to get it once you make it to the faculty review. That is nominally better than 9% from the general pool, but it is really hard to say whether the competition in FR pool is higher or lower in the end (both the best and the worst applicants are screened out, so it all depends on the initial ratio, which is a big unknown).

Depends on your stats. If you're a strong applicant numbers-wise, then no it's not. If you're not as strong, still not too late, but you should try and hurry.SupremeLaw wrote:Do you guys think it's too late to apply for this cycle?

How long did people have to wait in between getting their acceptance email and getting the second email with their Cal ID and login info?

They noted a date they would send me the info by in the acceptance email, but then that date passed so I emailed them about five days after and they sent it to me immediately. That said, I got accepted right before the office went on winter break, so it's hard for me to say what's accurate for wait time.Legalstudent111 wrote:How long did people have to wait in between getting their acceptance email and getting the second email with their Cal ID and login info?

I don't remember how long it took, but I'm pretty sure my Cal ID and login info went to my spam folder, so make sure you check that!Legalstudent111 wrote:How long did people have to wait in between getting their acceptance email and getting the second email with their Cal ID and login info?

Oh boy. Just looked @ LSN and Cal seems to love themselves some high GPAs.... Hopefully my above median LSAT but below 25th GPA still stand a chance.

1. Still early enough in the cycle so they might be just trickling out acceptance letters to just high GPAs first and then going down the list from there.brinicolec wrote:Oh boy. True. I looked at last year too and people around my stats didn't really do too well... excluding one person who had a 168/3.44 lol

Congrats to all of those who got in!
Has anyone gone UR immediately after the release of the December scores? I was "incomplete" the day before and went UR on the 4th after the scores hit LSAC...I'm thinking that it can't be good since its a bit of a reach for me...

If Berkeley's gonna email you to let you know you're under review, they should at least give you a somewhat speedy decision. Like BC.

Status checker just updated to today's date and says "faculty committee notice" under mailings. So no rejection, but guess I'll have to wait a while longer at FR

means we were not good enough to be admitted right away by Dean Tom but good enough to not be rejected right away. We are now reviewed by a committee of faculty and students and wait even longersphyrnidae13 wrote:lemon-lyman wrote:Status checker just updated to today's date and says "faculty committee notice" under mailings.
