@YoungSimba
I just checked "this section does not apply to me."
For your third question, I believe if you're including an addendum to address multiple LSAT scores, you don't need the SAT report. Berkeley is saying they need the report if you're trying to argue that none of your LSAT scores reflect your actual ability because you have a history of poor standardized testing. If you're just explaining why one score is better than another and you don't feel the need to explain/justify the higher score, I can't imagine that would be necessary.
You can read this interview with the Berkeley admissions dean where he explains the addendum for a "history of poor standardized tests." http://www.top-law-schools.com/tom-interview.html

Is anyone here applying for Berkeley Law Opportunity Scholarship? Or know any stats about it? (i.e. how many people apply for it). Thanks <3

Yes I would love to apply to it! Is this something we apply to after acceptance or before?

There is a separate essay component in the application. From what I gather, they only accept 5 or so students. There are interviews some time in the spring for finalists.btruj777 wrote:BrittanyJeream wrote:Is anyone here applying for Berkeley Law Opportunity Scholarship? Or know any stats about it? can we get a poll on whether you're writing
a) a 2 page personal statement
or
b) a 3-4 page personal statement
I think other people would be curious as well. I have a 2 pager ready to go, but I'm hesitating on submitting it to Berk since they provide 4 pages

Re: UC Berkeley School of Law C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
To give you an answer before the poll appears, I wrote a 3~ page personal statement that I submitted to Berk and a couple other schools that didn't have strict 2 pg requirements, and then edited it down to a 2 pg statement for everywhere else. I tend to be a wordier person, though, so I was glad to have extra room!proteinshake wrote:can we get a poll on whether you're writing

Last year I was accepted with a 2 page essay and no optional essays or anything so I think it's okayproteinshake wrote:can we get a poll on whether you're writing

I think they say four because they don't want to limit you, not because that's better. Shorter is ALWAYS better. Open it up, get to the point, have a good ending. My first draft was 3 1/2 for Berkeley. I had someone edit it down to two. I was extremely hesitant at first but after looking at it objectively, the shorter version was just more concise and still said everything I wanted to stay. Do not repeat yourself!Baby Gaga wrote:sortedproteinshake wrote:can we get a poll on whether you're writing

Same. I went complete last week, now it's just a long wait. I think they know how much I like them, I said so on my application a couple times.zeglo wrote:Boy I am nervous. Above both medians by a lot but kinda scared given their randomness. I hope they know how much I like them.

I looked at last year's thread, and it looks like decisions started coming out this week last year. Is there some reason to believe it will be later this year? This thread has been pretty quiet and I'm curious if people know something I don't!

I do not want to generalize but I think everything this cycle has been coming up later than the usual. Sept. LSAT scores, Harvard JS1s, etc etc. The moral of the story is, Class of 2020 cycle delayed lol

maybe it has something to do with December takers been up 15% (mostly due to retakes from September). idk tho.btruj777 wrote:I do not want to generalize but I think everything this cycle has been coming up later than the usual. Looking at last year it seems like they were expecting decisions to come out earlier than they actually did... so we might have an even longer wait. First decision last year was 11/16, so... tomorrow. Not seeing anything on their Twitter feed though.

Does anyone have any idea what the timeline looks like for Berkeley? My application went complete on 11/1 but haven't heard anything since then.

So weird this thread is so quiet, last year there were acceptances at this time!
