Berkeley is one of the schools that doesn't want us to send in an update on our application correct? [IIRC they only wanted it if it was in regards to the C&F but not if you have done new cool things. Is this correct?]

I applied two months ago today. People who applied two months ago yesterday have heard back, according to LSN. If only I had applied just one day earlier...

From reddit:
"I know! Seriously.
Btw, I called them today and they aren't releasing decisions today after all :/
The admissions person I talked to said another wave is coming in the next week or so. So that's hopeful - but vague"

Is April 1st the date all applicant will hear back?
Has there been a real wave since March?

Ditto. I wonder how small is small and what the odds are of getting in off of the waitlist?chandhi wrote:"I write to inform you that your application has been selected for inclusion in a small group that is being held while undergoing further consideration. +1 So to summarize: after basically have 1 small wave in the past month and a half, they put us in literal purgatory?janereacher wrote:Ditto. Re: UC Berkeley School of Law C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
seems like a hold more than anything. mid-April is when the tentative decision deadline is and June is the final decision deadline so maybe they want to see how many people are planning on attending?chandhi wrote:Is this a waitlist or FR or what?dietcoke1 wrote:that is inhumane, cruel and unusualchandhi wrote:"I write to inform you that your application has been selected for inclusion in a small group that is being held while undergoing further consideration. Got this email too So, I'm guessing this is WL? Anyone know how big this group is?chandhi wrote:"I write to inform you that your application has been selected for inclusion in a small group that is being held while undergoing further consideration. It seems like other people have gotten explicitly waitlisted. I'm not sure what this means. My status checker still says UR 2/6.gizmo1024 wrote:Got this email too So, I'm guessing this is WL? But the timeline makes sense for a waitlist.

Sounds to me like a middle finger to the actual waitlist and that the hold group will be considered first. good luck!chandhi wrote:It seems like other people have gotten explicitly waitlisted. Admits can defer a decision until June 1, but must inform of that intention by April 15.gizmo1024 wrote:Got this email too So, I'm guessing this is WL? I find the "final decision" wording confusing because it would seem that if you're on the cusp now (subject to those who withdraw by mid April), they could always move you to the waitlist if they still haven't found a spot for you by June 1.

"A decision has been reached" 3/13. Is that bad? No email.

I had "a decision has been reached 3/13" too and then this message at the top:mtf612 wrote:"A decision has been reached" 3/13. Is that bad? No email.
"After reviewing thoroughly your application for admission to UC Berkeley School of Law, the Admissions Committee has decided, with regret, not to offer you a place in the Class of 2020. We wish you all the best in your applications to other law schools and in your career. Thank you very much for your interest in Berkeley Law and for entrusting us with your application. A letter will be e-mailed to you in the next 24 hours."
UR 2/6, GPA <<<<< 25, LSAT = median
Not surprised at all, but still kinda disappointed.

Oh. I missed that. UR 2/6. It is a rejection. Above both 75ths. Wrote a Why Berkeley that I thought was rather compelling. I am a CA resident as well. So, I guess I'm not going to be in CA for the next three years.goofaloof wrote:I had "a decision has been reached 3/13" too and then this message at the top:mtf612 wrote:"A decision has been reached" 3/13.
