Oh cool this answered my question lol. That would be the perfect amount of time since I'm headed right up to their seat deposit deadline with that timing. Can you message me your stats and what the bump starting figure and end figure was?chichi1992 wrote:Just got a small scholarship bump from BU. Sent my appeal in about 2 weeks ago. PM for details!

I got a pretty large chunk from need based aid. Def swung me in favor of BU over BC.

Sounds like the majority of need based scholarship decisions are still not sent out? What do y'all think?

How long ago did you submit the need based aid application? In general, I personally wouldn't follow up with an admissions office to ask about financial aid HOWEVER with the deposit deadline being only a week away...if you've been waiting a long time it totally makes sense to be a nervous/want to know. I think they would understand.A_Faus95 wrote:would it be bad to call the office and ask for a timeline?A_Faus95 wrote:ashrice13 wrote:Created a poll to help us figure this out!A_Faus95 wrote:Sounds like the majority of need based scholarship decisions are still not sent out? Also - if you're not awarded aid, do they tell you? Not sure if this could be why you haven't heard

I submitted before the priority deadline (march 1). Thats what my question is too, if no aid is awarded do they let you know?

I submitted before the priority deadline (march 1). Thats what my question is too, if no aid is awarded do they let you know? I also submitted a scholarship negotiation for merit, maybe thats affecting it? I really am not sure.

If you submitted before the 3/1 deadline I don't thinLook back through here and through the 2019 thread...I think I remember someone saying that if you're not awarded aid you just don't hear about it but I honestly can't remember where or even if that was regarding BU.

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Looking for some honest and direct advice...
I was awarded an initial scholarship on January 30th. I then sent in a negotiation letter with an updated transcript, resume, and offers from peer schools. On March 28th, BU replied by awarding me a small amount of need-based aid (but merit was not adjusted). Since then, I have been elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a paper that I co-authored has been accepted into a symposium. There is also a good chance that I will get work in a corporate legal department this summer. I really want to ask if BU would be willing to match BC's offer (at this point 6k more), but I am worried that it is too late, and that this may come off as arrogant. BU is my #1 choice at the moment, and I would be willing to submit my deposit in a heartbeat if this works out, and likely will still end up going if it does not. Thoughts?

You can ask them to match the offer. Of course, be sure to express gratitude for the need-based amount you were given.Nadia wrote:Looking for some honest and direct advice...

It's not uncommon for people to negotiate more than once. Just make sure you're humble and thankful in your negotiation email. I think that It will only come across as arrogant if you set it up that way. Let them know that BU is your #1 choice and you will be attending it at all possible. If you're worried about sounding arrogant or entitled, sometimes the best thing to do is sell your desire to attend just as much as you sell your qualifications.Nadia wrote:Looking for some honest and direct advice...

Had applied early Jan and still waiting. LSAT well above 75th. It's a top choice for me and I had in fact had several communications with the adcom members before even applying. They were very helpful and answered my questions patiently. That's making me think they've lost my appashrice13 wrote:Earlier on this page someone else stated they were a Jan applicant still waitingintlbr wrote:Is anyone still waiting for a decision?
