Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Wait...BU doesn't give out travel stipends? I'm from the Northeast so they said I dont meet the distance requirement to receive a stipend for airfare but how about for hotels?
When I asked about both, the email response was like "can't give airfare stipend, thanks for asking though!"
It says in the admitted students information that they do offer a stipend, but that you have to request it first. FWIW - I sent an email a week ago requesting the stipend for the 3/31 preview day and haven't heard back yet.

Approaching three months now. BU was one of the first schools I applied to and is now the last school I'm waiting on. Expecting a WL again, which I won't be too upset over. I just want closure!

In today via phone call.
Could someone PM me details about Admitted Students Days? (what days are they/what is the schedule like?)
Also, does anyone know if it is too late to register for the one this weekend? I know the info will come in the admissions packet but I don't know how long that will take to get to me.

Thank you so much! I was confused by the phone call earlier with the excitement of being accepted.

Does anyone know what might have contributed to BU falling 3 spots in the 2018 USNWR rankings? And yes, I know they're largely meaningless, but it'd be nice to know if there's anything new students should be concerned about

No idea but if you look back - it's really common/should be expected for BU (and, for that matter, BC) to move up and down a few spots every year. From what other people have said, this is generally common for schools outside of the T14/13. I don't think it changes anything. BU is a strong regional school and will be viewed as such when you graduate.

Someone linked this article in a different thread, and one part does a good enough job putting rankings into perspective. To paraphrase, the differences in ranks in the T1 tier of 20-50 is tiny. There's a minimal difference between rank 27 and 41, but the idea of rankings creates this perception that there's a substantive difference between the two
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
