Yeah I guess it's way better then being

Out of curiosity, how did you guys decide to apply ED to BU? Besides the nice full scholly, of course

I live in Massachusetts and fully intend to stay here. Harvard is *possible* but definitely a long shot for me. Between BU and BC I liked BU a lot more so it just made sense

Decided to take a break from LSAT studying to check out TLS and saw the BU 2020 thread on the homepage, so of course I had to drop back in haha. I'm also the first person to pick South in the new poll!

I don't think Boston is as insular as Florida markets, but would you need considerable ties to get a job there if you aren't from the area? Would going to law school in Boston (and hopefully doing well) be enough?

From my understanding (i.e. Everything I've read on TLS) going to LS in Boston is enough to establish ties in the area so you shouldn't need to worry. There is a strong alumni network for BU and BC also (a few people on other threads have said that this might be stronger for BC but not sure how true that is).

Good luck with the LSAT studying!! If things don't go my way in terms of $$ this year I'm going to retake in June/reapply next year but just thinking about that is giving me nightmares haha

Hey all,

I'm a BU grad who got in via ED a few years ago. I know there are a whole bunch of BU folks on here, but I'm also more than happy to answer any questions you guys might have about BU, the process, or anything like that.

For me, BU is a school that hits the sweet spot for ranking/hiring outcomes/expected scholly amount for me to make law school actually a good idea for me - furthermore, I'm looking to go into health law so Boston is a great market to start out in for that. (BC's a big contender for this reason too) The ED is just a shot to give me a boost on the monetary side of things as well as showing that I'm extremely interested in the school.

Yeah, pretty sure that's what the option is there for.

Hi! Applied to BU with a fee waiver in mid October. I have a 3.85, and got a 162 on my LSAT. Not as high of a score as I had hoped, but I wanted to get applications in and the person with admissions at ND seemed to think that was the better option as well. Also applied to:

Notre Dame
University of Michigan - fee waiver
Duke University - early decision
Vanderbilt

Thought I'd share my LSN account - I'm not that protective of my numbers or anything. Stalk away!

For all other obsessive people who want to overthink things...I checked out the last few years of applicant threads to see when ED acceptances/denials came through...

c/o 2017- dec 9
C/o 2018 - dec 10
C/o 2019- 11/23 (this was an acceptance)...first person who got pushed to RD was 12/10.

Make if this what you will. I will commence over analyzing now

Lol yeah I've gotten in the habit of following anyone whom is near me in numbers to see if anything is wacky about my cycle; I'm sure I have a few TLSers on that list. And lets hope so, there'd be money in it for me as well!

Scholly money is very important to me; wouldn't be looking at much if I squeak in off a waitlist or something - also just focused on places I would actually go, not just looking to blanket just bc of ranking.

Guys -

Legal weed

Lol but in actual effect I think it'll bring a lot of tax revenue being kinda a haven on on the east coast - it's happened here (KS) already. I know a ton of people go on "ski trips" to CO and just toke up the whole time. Interesting to see how the surrounding states will police it. I read dispensaries will start showing up around 2018, is that accurate?

Quick question - I submitted my app a few weeks ago in anticipation of my LORs being uploaded by my recommenders shortly thereafter. Naturally, at that time I was notified my report was incomplete.

Unfortunately it took longer than expected and my LORs were just uploaded today to LSAC. Anyone know if BU automatically pulls the completed report once the final component is submitted to LSAC, or should I notify them that my report is now complete?

Thanks!

Pretty excited that the ED deadline has passed. We're less than 2 weeks away from the earliest ED decision and less than 4 weeks away from the average ED decision date.

I'm totally normal, though. Not at all obsessed with getting an answer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
