Looks like LS funded positions aren't counted as bar passage required jobs this year - with the same stipulations as last year, that would be at 81.4% this year; I'm still slightly worried by the higher unemployed/seeking number, but it's a blip and not a trend at this point.BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Employment stats out. I noticed that too, there's 15 unemployed/seeking. Wonder what's up with that?Dodocogon wrote:Looks like LS funded positions aren't counted as bar passage required jobs this year - with the same stipulations as last year, that would be at 81.4% this year; I'm still slightly worried by the higher unemployed/seeking number, but it's a blip and not a trend at this point.BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Employment stats out. Yeah I'm not sure. I'm confident in my ability to find employment after school so I'm not worried for myself, but it does raise an eyebrow. Maybe some people who won't settle for a less than ideal (for them) outcome or something.tuesdayninja wrote:I noticed that too, there's 15 unemployed/seeking. Do you think now that deposit deadline past, they may send out scholarship bumps?

If you deposit at BU and BC, will you lose your schollys at those schools?

Can't speak for BC, but BU doesn't have any stipulations with the first deposit.mrtux45 wrote:If you deposit at BU and BC, will you lose your schollys at those schools?

Would it be advisable to just call BC admissions directly and ask what their policy is? I'd like to at least hang on to whatever leverage I could possibly havejessmeesh wrote:Can't speak for BC, but BU doesn't have any stipulations with the first deposit.mrtux45 wrote:If you deposit at BU and BC, will you lose your schollys at those schools?

I dont think it would hurt. But you could also just go to the deposit page yourself. Click through it and see if you have to agree to any terms with your deposit.mrtux45 wrote:Would it be advisable to just call BC admissions directly and ask what their policy is? Hey, thanks! Nope, email. Since I live abroad, they mailed. Otherwise they call. They wrote this in the mail. You did hopefully hear soon. Any clue on the timeline for scholarship info?intlbr wrote:Congrats!!!! How did you hear? Did they call you?BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Finally, got admitted to the school I first applied to. Scholarship info comes in the snail mail acceptance letter. Mine came a little over a week after my call. Since you're international AND have an upcoming deadline, I would call/email admissions and ask for the information and explain your situation. Otherwise you may not get it in time.

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Gotcha, thanks. In fact, just wrote back to them. Hope I get to know soon. Further, can you pls tell me 1. If there is need based aid on offer and what's the approx timeline for them to get back from the date you submit your application, 2. I understand they are not totally closed to negotiation. I have only 51k from BC but much more from vandy, Texas, gw, Emory, Fordham, uiuc. Do you think they would be willing to play ball and what's the general timeline for hearing back on negotiation. ? I can read the entire thread but BU adds to all the confusion I already have and my head's a mess. Thanksjessmeesh wrote:BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Hey, thanks! Nope, email. Need-based aid is a thing, but the deadline is long passed. You can still submit the application and cross your fingers. My aid took about 2-3 weeks from when I submitted the app.
Can't speak to negotiation - I didn't try to negotiate with BU.

According to the admissions page "applicants who complete their applications by February 1, 2017 will receive a decision by early April 2017" and "generally by the end of April we will be able to communicate to the active waitlist candidates whether or not we will be making additional offers of admission."
I applied in mid-January, took the LSAT for the second time in February, and went complete in early March. Stats are at or above median. BU and BC are my top choices and I happily put down my deposit at BC last week, but if BU would accept me and match the scholarship I think I would choose BU... I'm wondering if it is time for an LOCI or I should just patiently wait for a few more weeks?
