All schools I've visited so far, I visited not on their ASW's. I think its really valuable. you see what the school is like on an average day, and the admissions have been accommodating to me each time, usually finding a student to give me a tour of the school. I've enjoyed going when I can get that inside look of certain schools. I know there are other benefits to ASW btw, just pointing out that there are also benefits to going on other weekends and don't feel too bad about itKeilz wrote:A lot of the students I met at Berkeley said they had never visited before they arrived for orientation. I think if you're visiting you'll be fine! Just let the admissions office know and they'll accommodate you to show you what you need to knowStopLawying wrote:Anyone seriously considering UMich but unable to make it for the ASWs? I feel like I'm the only one not going. Feel terrible.
I definitely plan on visiting before the deposit deadline, but I'm afraid I'm gonna miss out on a lot.

Good luck everyone that's complete! Fwiw, I'm currently at ASW so if anyone wants to ask me anything about how I feel about it or whatever else, lemme know.

Yeah, it was very fun. Michigan scheduled a bunch of events, but you didn't have to go, and I think they did a good job of having events that lead to interacting with current students in a more "intimate" setting so that people could get a better idea of what the students are like. I also think they did a good job of avoiding making ASW seem like a hard sell and just making sure we're making an informed decision and weighing our options. Also, this weekend might have been a little different from a going out standpoint (or maybe it's kinda the norm), but people here seem like they aren't afraid to/against going out and having a good time on weekends (which start on Thursday for some people, of course lol).Kangaroo_Court wrote:So was it fun? I'm actually not sure, I didn't check the status checker frequently enough to catch the date, and it doesn't seem to display now. Sorry.intlbr wrote:Sorry to hear that! Me! I couldn't get the time off work to make the trip for ASW. I did go visit on my own a while back and got to sit in on a class and take a tour. I fell in love with it while I was there, and plan to attend if it makes sense financially.StopLawying wrote:Anyone seriously considering UMich but unable to make it for the ASWs? I have been complete since 3/4, and I have heard nothing back from Michigan. Sent in another "Why michigan" the day before, and told them that they are my first choice.

In the exact same boat, complete since 3/4! I applied for summer and fall start. Any idea when the last day we can hear is? I applied for a dual-degree so I am going for the MPH regardless, so i need to know when to pack up/move across the country....minor details. Constantly refreshing my email/portal.melmelcoolj wrote:I have been complete since 3/4, and I have heard nothing back from Michigan. Michigan should be done around early Apr based on last years' experience. So we should hear back really soon. I also applied for summer and fall start.caligirl13 wrote:In the exact same boat, complete since 3/4! I applied for summer and fall start. Any idea when the last day we can hear is?
