If accepted, how likely are you to attend?

Are you kidding? It's my first choice. Consider my seat deposit sent.

It's high on my list but it's not THE school I'm waiting to hear back from.

It's high on my list, but I can probably be swayed by more money from another school.

Meh... I applied because it's a T14 - we'll see how my cycle goes.

Really just plan on using it for scholarship negotiation purposes.

Still feel really unsure. I'll probably visit or go to ASW to get a better feel for the school/location.

I have a matching offer from another T14 and a higher scholarship offer from a T-20. Do you guys think they'll up my offer?

I already deposited so I might have shot myself in the foot lmao.
Some people have, but you have zero leverage. You already deposited, and you don't have a higher scholarship from a better school. And if the matching offer is from a school ranked worse than michigan then you have even less leverage.

If you hadn't already sent in the deposit I'd say it's worth a try. But you already told them you're going there.

Unfortunately they don't. There isn't really anything preventing them from telling you whenever they want.

A possible way to get some leverage may be to double-deposit, but that, of course, means you'll lose some money from depositing elsewhere and also, it's a gamble on whether or not it'd help at all.

For those that negotiated/attempted to negotiate, how did you go about doing it? Did you just send an email to financial aid or admissions? And how long did it take for them to respond? Thanks!

I set a phone meeting first. Followed up with my awards via email... It is Michigan's policy to no longer negotiate once you receive your second (negotiated) offer. However, if you can swing a mighty offer from a mighty school of mightiness, they will open up for renegotiation. True story 8)

Does anybody know, for those of us still waiting, if Michigan will call us by phone, send emails out, use snail mail like Stanford, or just update the status checker? I've been waitlisted by a few T14's and NYU and Michigan are the only ones that haven't gotten back to me yet so I would just like one acceptance.

Other than the guy above who said before April 30th, no clue. I wish I knew the deadline for their seat deposit, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Though if I am being honest I am probably too stressed to look for it carefully.
