"Talked to the Columbia Dean at the 1L reception tonight and asked her about medians. She didn't give me specifics but she told me our median went up. This means we have at least a 172, which puts our median above the 75th for NYU. (which is what we really care about)"

Well there goes my shot. Hopefully they were talking about GPA median only...

I wouldn't give that report too much credence.
I don't have a contradictory one or anything, I just don't put much stock in something like this.

Regardless, don't let your LSAT score discourage you, everyone has a shot.

I just noticed that Columbia requires a professional LOR if you graduated in 2015 or earlier unless you think your employment might be jeopardized by asking in which case you need to submit an addendum saying that. I definitely don't want to ask my job for a letter. Any thoughts on how long the addendum should be? I'm thinking just a quick, I feel that asking for a LOR would jeopardize my employment blah blah two sentences type thing

I'm wondering about this too. The only person I could think of to write me one is a former boss who's running an extremely tough re-election campaign right now, and I really don't want to ask him. Asking my new boss would jeopardize my employment (I think), and he barely knows me. Not sure if these are bad excuses to be honest about though.

Good point. I don't have a particularly compelling colleague to write one, except my current colleague, which presents the same problem as asking my current boss. Thinking I may just write the addendum to go with my academic references, and if they really don't like it, I won't be too heartbroken.

Ok this may be a dumb question. In Columbia's instructions page it states "Please note further that we do not utilize LSAC's recommendation form and require letters from recommendation providers."

Does this mean you need to have your recommenders send Columbia their letters in some way? Or will letters uploaded to LSAC work like they do for most schools? Sorry if I'm reading too much into this.
