Ok, this makes me feel a little calmer, though I'm assuming you went complete in January?lvlaw3 wrote:+1 samegoldenbear2020 wrote:Applied in 2016 but went complete post-December score. yup, went complete first week of January. somehow keeping the optimism alive, but expecting a reserve/ding letter any day now :/Keilz wrote:Ok, this makes me feel a little calmer, though I'm assuming you went complete in January?lvlaw3 wrote:+1 samegoldenbear2020 wrote:Applied in 2016 but went complete post-December score. Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
I applied in December. Went complete 12/28. Nothing at all- no hold, no waitlist, no ding. I have been expecting a ding letter in the mail since late March, and still nothing.Keilz wrote:not what I wanted to hear loleck456 wrote:Keilz wrote:Wasn't sure if they thought it would be a loci due to being waitlisted. I'm just wondering if I just never received the email. Lol idk what's normal anymore. I sent a loci in march and they responded, but that's about it.
Hmmm yeah I see that

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
I just received this email:
"We wish to inform you that, after careful deliberation, our Admissions Committee has decided to postpone making a final decision on your candidacy, and we are placing your application in our Reserve group. Because we are uncertain about the plans of some applicants whom we have already admitted, it is necessary for us to postpone making a determination on your application until the end of May, when we will begin reviewing those candidates on Reserve and possibly offering some admission to our 2017 entering class."
Then I was prompted to fill out a form with a url ending in /firstreserve. Is this standard waitlist? Better? Worse?

I'm just relieved that I didn't miss an email in Feb, and that they really took this long to decide. More of a shot than I thought I had going in, honestly.

Someone on LSN who was reserved as well applied ED, so they must be wrapping it up. They said they review those applicants again in April.

Like, if I had to write another LOCI...I don't even know what more to write.

Guys is there anything to be gained at this point by emailing my interviewer and telling her how much I want to throw a deposit at Columbia? Is this my desperation setting in?

Yes, don't do that. You only have like four more days of waiting.
