Not to freak you all out, but if I were you I'd expect the first round of decisions to go out on Tuesday.
If they do what they've done before you'll get an email with a PDF of a letter which you will later receive in the mail.
Best of luck and please, for the love of god, chill about all your email stress. Columbia is really slow about correspondence.

How come Tuesday? Looking at the previous years I would expect Thursday, Friday or maybe even the Monday after that.

I'm going based on last year when the first decisions went out on the Tuesday after MLK Day. All I'm saying is that Tuesday is a real possibility. I have no insider information or anything.Thelaw23 wrote:benwyatt wrote:Not to freak you all out, but if I were you I'd expect the first round of decisions to go out on Tuesday.

Looks like last year it was Tuesday after MLK, Thursday Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. So, basically, once decisions come out we could see a flood of decisions come out over the following week or two. ALL acceptances.Thelaw23 wrote:benwyatt wrote:Not to freak you all out, but if I were you I'd expect the first round of decisions to go out on Tuesday.

You don't need an interview for a decision/acceptance; maybe your stats were enough to make you an auto admit for themzeglo wrote:I haven't even gotten an interview yet, sooooo Guess I should have applied earlier.

But since I have doubt about my application, interview made me feel better. Interview gives me a better chance to let them know me and clear their concern.
I wish NYU conducts interview.

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Had a dream on Friday night that I got a Butler and when awarding it to me, the admissions people were like "We usually don't give these to people with numbers as low as yours, but we made an exception because we really like you..." needless to say, I was pretty disappointed when I woke up and found out it was all a dream :'(
also, officially asked Columbia to hold my application until my Feb LSAT score comes out. the impatience of waiting just might kill me, but it's worth it if my score improves significantly.

Just FYI I think there's a spreadsheet for Columbia c/o 2020 already in the first postGoBucks6612 wrote:ADMISSIONS SPREADSHEETS ARE HERE!
Hi everyone! I created an admissions spreadsheet for this cycle found at the link below:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
Feel free to fill in your numbers and as much information as you want about yourselves. Please PM me with any concerns or bugs that you find (updated from another school so bound to be some). Rest of the T14 can be found in the 2016-2017 Admissions Spreadsheets Forum.
Please do not sort the information. If you would like to, download a copy.

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
I have a question regarding the letter of recommendation that Columbia asks for for those a few years out of school. What if you have been working abroad? I can't imagine that my head teacher here (who isn't even really a "supervisor") would write me anything that resembles what most American employers would write. It makes you realize that there is really a specific culture around letters of reference.

I had a similar issue and called the admissions office to ask what to do. Just submit two academic letters of rec and addendum explaining why there's no professional one.Veil of Ignorance wrote:I have a question regarding the letter of recommendation that Columbia asks for for those a few years out of school. haha yeah I think the adcomms will understand that most other cultures don't ask all employers and profs to heap hyperbolic and effusive praise on all of us average schmucks. you should be finecarlos_danger wrote:I had a similar issue and called the admissions office to ask what to do. although last year first ED decisions seem to have come out a week earlier than they did this year, so its possible first RD decisions will also start a week later this yearguybourdin wrote:Looks like last year it was Tuesday after MLK, Thursday Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. There's still hope for today right? Or does Columbia only do acceptances in the morning like NYU?Thelaw23 wrote:I had no hope on today until benwyatt posted
