I'm certain we will be able to accommodate, friend.RamTitan wrote:Checking in, but not a softball fan; more of a keg stand guy
Besides, softball is like pool or darts...you get objectively better the MORE kegstands you do. It's science.

Just popping in to wish you all the best of luck. I applied last year and deferred so I hope you will all decide to join me in Charlottesville!
If I can be of help to any of you as you apply and such, I'm more than happy to answer questions based on last year or look over anything before you submit.

Whose gunning for the first day acceptance? Got to admit that's awesome they admit people on the first day. Knowing you at LEAST have UVA as an option all the way through the cycle has got to be a good feeling.

Can you apply on the first day and then submit a new LSAT score to the admissions committee after that?dietcoke1 wrote:Whose gunning for the first day acceptance? Yes. Just make sure to email the admissions and let me them know you would like admissions to wait to review your application until your new score comes out.RamTitan wrote:Can you apply on the first day and then submit a new LSAT score to the admissions committee after that?dietcoke1 wrote:Whose gunning for the first day acceptance? Checking in as well
I got a fee waiver at the DC LSAC forum. I'm guessing that there'll be a place to input the code, right?

Woah, that's the first I've heard of first day admit. Do they do this for all applications or just ED? Are there any other T14 that do this?dietcoke1 wrote:Whose gunning for the first day acceptance? Edit: For anyone wondering according to the self-reported data for TLS from 2015-2016, 14 people applied first day. 4 of them were admitted on day 1 (all wrote Why UVA Addendums). Of the 14 to apply on day 1 13 were eventually admitted.

ETA: Worried about applying with a September LSAT. If I had my druthers, I'd apply the second the application opened.

I've heard that adcomms don't even really start looking at apps until late October/early November. Not 100% sure if it's true or not but either way, you're fine bro, it's still considered early.SweetTort wrote:Checking in!

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I don't know how many schools do this, but it looks like UVA looks at some applications on day 1 and will make some decisions that first week. Idk if they have some sort of threshold for doing so or really what the deal is.TheMikey wrote:I've heard that adcomms don't even really start looking at apps until late October/early November. Yea it appears when they say they really want you to be enthusiastic about wanting to go there, they mean it. Last year's thread, although most of the posts are gone now, report first day acceptances. One even reported not having to interview, just applied with a Why UVA, and received an acceptance call the same day.

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I think this graph is only last cycle, so a a limited set of data. LSAT at median + gpa above median probably isn't a terrible place to be though.zeglo wrote:So I have a 168 and a high GPA; is that graph you linked just a small sample? Looks bad for anyone below a 169.
Also, checking in. This might be my first choice school (of course, not EDing though).
