Were you accepted?
Yes. I haven't deposited or created any sort of account though lol.

Glad it wasn't just me lawlschool :P
Ah, ok. It would be odd if you hadn't gotten a decision yet. (If that were the case, I would have speculated it was a slip-up meaning you'd be getting an acceptance soon!)
I got excited thinking it was a response from financial aid, boo.

Good luck with your interview! :D

Got the email, also thought it was a response to my reconsideration form for scholarship

Ah yes probably the only thing that truly ever bugs me about going to school here: the larger University of Chicago bureaucracy sending me random emails.

They (U of C, not the Law School) re-did their IT system this year and sometimes they send out random emails like this. It's pretty irritating!

I would feel free to ignore it completely :)

Aw, Chicago sent me a nice email thanking me for interviewing with them. None of the other schools did that :P

I haven't been following this board too closely, but based on recent responses may have some clue re: these questions.

1. I've been UR for well over a month now and haven't interviewed, when should I expect some sort of response and would it be reasonable to contact the admissions office?

2. Is it possible to be admitted without an interview, or is it like H where it's a prerequisite?

As a follow up, I've been admitted to NYU (decision came less than a month after submission, which is why it feels odd to have been in limbo with Chicago for so long) and have to submit my deposit there by May 1 so it's kind of getting to be that time...

Same. I think it means we're up for WL or ding later this afternoon or early next week.

What, not the traditional Chicago deep-dish grilling?

I was under review for well over a month before my recent date change and at this point it's common and I would not contact admissions over it.

They claim the interview isn't required but it essentially is and I have't really heard of people being accepted without one

I was UR for a long time. I'd suggest just waiting. I'd given up expectation of anything then poof!

Weirdly enough, after my interview, my status went back to UR with the status date 4/12. (My interview was on the 13th.)

What does UR >= 2 or 3 mean?

It is the dates in your status checker. Certain schools may follow patterns regarding date changes (i.e. a school may typically release decisions within a few days of going UR=2). In any event, it means your app has gone through a step of the review process, although it may be impossible to say why or what it went through.

Same. Is it bad that at this point I'm more like "Thank God I'll finally be down to only waiting on one app" than "Ah bummer"

Lol I think that would be the majority opinion among pending applicants if you asked the group.
