Sorry. I didn't mean to convey that. You certainly don't have to have it, it just has to be sincere. You know if you want a small class size or not. If you do, then talk about it (I did). If you don't, then certainly don't force the issue.RamTitan wrote:This is a helpful post. I will note that you don't have to say that Chicago is your top choice or your only choice. I wrote about the excellent clinical opportunities and the small size of the school, and mentioned a friend who attended (and loved it.) IIRC I made it clear that I adored the school but never said or implied that it was my first choice. It worked out OK for me, YMMV.

Gotcha, that's good to hear. Small class size is important to me, so I'll definitely talk about that!KMart wrote:Sorry. I didn't mean to convey that. Does anyone know anything about admissions interviews? If we receive one, is it a good sign for admission/scholarship?

Yes. I believe everyone that is accepted interviewed first. But some people interview and are not accepted.poptart123 wrote:And does everybody eventually admitted get one?acz26 wrote:Does anyone know anything about admissions interviews? Have you received an interview offer?

My guess is it's unlikely to happen before they look at the ED people. They typically do that in December. You're still early and have hardly waited. Check past admissions thread to get a better sense of the timelines if you wish. Be patient; it takes some time to get through this process. Best of luck!AZnative wrote:If I have been under review since mid-September (9/16), would interview requests normally be going out this month?

I lurked the old thread and looks like interview requests started going out right around this time last year.

Ah I stand corrected! Obviously this is just wave one and I do believe most go out after mid-December when the ED decisions are made.pretzeltime wrote:I lurked the old thread and looks like interview requests started going out right around this time last year.

No I haven't..I just noticed that they started around this time last year, but as mentioned above I would assume that's for ED candidates

the more I research about U of Chicago, the more I like it. Chicago is just about the only major city that I have yet to visit tho, as I've been to LA, SF, NY, and DC. Can someone describe Chicago and how it compares to other major cities?

You get four seasons, it's affordable, there's plenty to do with distinct neighborhoods so you get a different feel by walking 10min in a certain direction, and we do pizza right.dietcoke1 wrote:the more I research about U of Chicago, the more I like it. The truth is our winter sucks and our politicians are historically bad, but it's a beautiful, affordable, and amazing city to live in. I can't picture going to law school in another city both because of the city itself and the school. It's a great school and I think you'd really like it. If you get in, be sure to come to ASW and you can really get a better feel for both the city and the school.

Not sure based on what's on their site, perhaps email them? http://www.law.uchicago.edu/node/3762raspberryo wrote:also wondering about the ruby - anyone knows if it's renewed for 20'?

Wondering the same thing. I would email them, but I'm afraid I'll come across as a cocky bastard of some sort.raspberryo wrote:also wondering about the ruby - anyone knows if it's renewed for 20'?

Fuck, I submitted my application today and forgot to include my "Why Chicago" addendum. I realized a few hours later and attached it in an email to the admissions office. Will this reflect negatively on me? Should I be worried at all?

Thanks, in my paranoia I feared they'd think my lack of attention to detail made me unfit for a legal career haha.zeglo wrote:It's nothing to worry about; you sent just one nice email, so it's good. Do not worry about the emailed addendum. The people that work in admissions are normal human beings. The same goes for people wanting to ask about the Ruby. No one will think anything about you for asking about it, and if you're that concerned just call and ask on the phone and don't say your name.

I lived there for 2 months. The weather was nice. I enjoy cold winters and the summer was never hot in my opinion (Texas native). There's a lot to do in the city and the food is great. The COL is pretty high imo.dietcoke1 wrote:the more I research about U of Chicago, the more I like it.
