seems to be a separate phone call, which I would is assume is followed by documentation...would not come with the acceptance email.
Does that phone call come later in the cycle usually, or at the time of acceptance?
People who have received rubies reported getting a phone call at a later time than when they were admitted.

Also it was an email, not a phone call, for me at least
How long after your admittance did the email come?

Non-Ruby merit awards came out on 2/22 last year per LSN. Hopefully there's some good news this week!

I have my Chicago interview coming up. Wish me luck! I really don't have great softs or numbers so I'm completely caught off guard in getting this far, so nothing to lose for me! Any helpful last minute tips or advice? Since my Feb LSAT score comes out somewhat soon, should I go ahead and say that they should hold my decision for it? I previously told them not to, but that was before getting the interview

relax + congrats. take a look earlier in the thread to see some general questions you're asked. just be yourself. an interview is a great sign and they just want normal, sane humans.

Thanks! I actually feel pretty relaxed as this was my biggest reach and will really just be icing on the cake if I get accepted, since I was expecting a no interview waitlist. I hope that I come off as sane and normal

Anyone know if they said early March last cycle, then came through on 2/22? Sort of busy at work, but will try and look through the thread if no one else has.

Looks like last year they said end of February.

Looks like Feb. 22 last year for non-Ruby and accepted first wave. That's all I know fwiw
I think one of my admitted student emails said early March. Today's the deadline for their financial aid application, by the way.
The financial aid application was the form that was like 10 questions total right?

I think I am going to withdraw from the waitlist. I don't expect I would get any scholarship money off the waitlist, and I am in at Columbia. All things being equal I would choose Columbia over Chicago.

So if we were among the admits notified on 2/13 and didn't receive a Ruby email yesterday is that a done deal?

The interview was pleasantly odd, with a lot of personality based questions. Very friendly, and a lot of follow ups on my answers which some people say they didn't get. My interviewer actually gave her own personal answer to one of the questions about dead people/favorite book which made the interview super low key. Fingers crossed for pleasant news coming soon

Not necessarily, but you might have to wait a while. According to the scholarship letter I received, current Rubenstein recipients have to commit to UChicago by April 12th. That date is apparently pretty much set in stone, largely because they "will need to offer the scholarship to another admitted student by late April". Of course, if some people who were offered the Ruby withdraw before that deadline, they'll presumably be able to make those decisions sooner.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
