#6 for me! I'm pretty sure I'll withdraw from the UChi waitlist tomorrow.

Waitlisted...better than a ding. I'm probably not gonna ride it out (let's be real I can't afford this place) but I'll sleep on it. I will say the waitlist email does a great job of "It's not you, it's us. Really."

Might as well stay on the waitlist --- sometimes people who get off of it do get scholarships. Good luck from a fellow waitlist-ee!

Honestly I think this year if you didn't apply early enough you were screwed. I don't think a why chi would have changed things and I wouldn't say a LOCI would lead to an interview (there are people on the WL post interview and there are people on the WL that didn't interview and sent a LOCI and have not received an interview).

Declined acceptance today. God, that hurt.

The pain was made more tolerable by the knowledge that one of you could benefit from it.

May it be so.

Just wanted to clarify--in my email, it didn't indicate anything had to be done to remain on the waitlist. Am I missing something, or is that the case?

Yeah I think they should be emailing us in May or so to confirm if we want to remain on

If you choose to submit a LOCI (or "additional essay" as they call it in the email,) you should do so by May 5th. But no, per the email, it does not look like you have to fill out a form or write back to explicitly indicate your interest in remaining on the wait list.

Dinged by email three days ago without an interview. First ding in my cycle, for the rest have all been WLs. Thanks Chicago for giving me some closure, though it hurts a little than the WL soft rejection.

Has there been any word of new Ruby offers? LSN shows six withdrawals right now. Also, are these re-offers usually offered to people with $$ who ask for more or just handed out unsolicited?
