Still no movement on my NYUseless status checker.
Pretty confident about my outcome nonetheless so I'm working on yet another short & sweet LOCI which reads, "I'm angry with you but I love you enough to let bygones be bygones if you accept me off of the WL in the second week of May"

Same same since 3/13. Nothing. It's funny how I'm still waiting on half a dozen schools but NYU is the only one that actually makes me angry.SybillAnnDorsett wrote:Still no movement on my NYUseless status checker.
Maybe this is part of their effort to create a "collaborative learning environment." You know, the way a military puts the members of a squad through living hell so that they'll bond, develop a sense of camaraderie and harden into a rock-solid team. That's it. They're doing this because they've chosen us to be the fire hardened core of the class of 2020. They know we're the ones who can handle it. Those folks who got accepted and were given the full scholarships are the ones the school sees as delicate snowflakes and ill prepared for real battle. That's it.

Sounds like a flat amount plus a success fee with a percentage of the relative value of information gleaned?SybillAnnDorsett wrote:Depends on the relative value of the information retrieved.WordsworthIsBae wrote:I, too, am curious as to how much.dietcoke1 wrote:how much are we talkin about sybillSybillAnnDorsett wrote:I'm not joking I will venmo whomever calls NYU right now and asks them wtf is up.

Oh I'm a total moron - ASD is today/tomorrow, right? No wonder they're not allowing class visits on these days.Instrumental wrote:NYU - "ASD is poppin off yo! Applications?" *glances over at industrial shredder* "Uh yeah, we'll get right back to ya on those!"
Doesn't this also mean that they will make no additional pre-WL admit offers?

Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Precisely. My people will call your people shortly but we've determined that the flat fee is $10.00. The success fee is paid solely to the operative capable of bypassing any attempts from the target to curve the operative - i.e. "All decisions will be out before the end of April and that is all we can say at this time". Operatives who successfully manipulate the target for valuable information will receive double the amount of the flat fee and an additional $10.00 because Sybill just got paid today, HOLLLLA!!!!!sigree wrote:Sounds like a flat amount plus a success fee with a percentage of the relative value of information gleaned?SybillAnnDorsett wrote:Depends on the relative value of the information retrieved.WordsworthIsBae wrote:I, too, am curious as to how much.dietcoke1 wrote:how much are we talkin about sybillSybillAnnDorsett wrote:I'm not joking I will venmo whomever calls NYU right now and asks them wtf is up.

Yeah, I am crazy today. I think it's time, guys.
I took a TLS hiatus when NYU first deferred my ED app, and I felt a lot better afterwards.
It is with great sadness that I announce a temporary leave of absence from TLS for at least a few days, if not more.
I promise I'll be back with a quintessential "I'm Back" gif, preferably the iconic Emma Roberts original, "I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me".
love you all, my fellow waiters. talk soon
