Checking in. App submitted earlier today after fee waiver was solicited last week. Applied late last cycle in Feb and got the big WL. Hopefully a fresh LSAT score and an early application will do the trick this time.

I'm planning to pick one next week. From what I've read, the more effort you show towards their application the higher likelihood of getting in - they're all about demonstrating that you really want to go to UW Law.

Met some reps from UW Law in NYC this weekend - they recommended applying even if you don't have your LSAT score yet, just to start at the front of the queue. So if the rest of your app is fully complete, it might be a good idea to apply and note in the checkbox on LSAC that your LSAT score is forthcoming.

Same! Finalizing now. I'm adding in some language at the end to tailor it slightly, but I'm mostly just using one PS. Not sure what the best practice is. I'm going off this admissions doc from UW I found online: https://www.washington.edu/uaa/advising ... nt_law.pdf

Although I think we have a 700 word limit.

There should definitely be at least a chunk of it that expresses your interest in UW in particular. They should be able to tell that you have done your research into clinics, curriculum, etc. and have a genuine interest in attending. At least a paragraph doing this, which isn't hard because of the generous length of the PS that they allow (700words).

Checking in! One of my best friends is at UW and I grew up at the base of MT Rainier. I took last June and got a measly 157, recent PTs are mid to high 160s. In a tough spot because at the end of this semester I'm getting 17 4.0 credits to boost my 3.5 GPA (Russian major gpa is 3.94, bad freshman and sophmore years >.>)

I was planning on applying mid December after getting my LSAT back, but now I'm starting to get worried about the time :S

From what I've read, I think you'll be fine to apply come January. If you get your GPA up before your score comes out, then apply immediately and note in your app that your new score is forthcoming, at least you'll have an earlier spot in the queue. I would also call the admissions office and ask if you can apply now, expecting a higher GPA and LSAT score. I think they'll ask for all of your updated grades as you finish college anyway.

I was in a similar spot LSAT-wise - got 158 then and boosted it several points the second time around. Hoping it's good enough!

I was actually admitted off the waitlist after the scholarship deadline. So I didn't get any scholarships for 1L year. That's a better question for the admissions office that they will probably answer accurately for you. My inkling is that they probably award all the 1L scholarships at once before the deposit deadline, because in order to even be considered for a scholarship you MUST fill out the required scholarship application by its published deadline.

Also, I noticed some confusion last year in the 2018 thread about the two different systems of financial aid operating concurrently at UW. UW Law's Admissions office manages the scholarships. Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) deals with the federal loans and university grants, and does so for the entire university. Last year, OSFA sent out award notices to admitted students and it only contained the loan financial aid, which made them think UW wasn't given them any scholarships when that wasn't necessarily the case. OSFA just doesn't talk to UW Law admissions - instead, they award you the loan aid, and if you don't end up needing it (because of scholarships received or other reasons), you decline some amount of it.

Ok thanks for the tips. Good to know about the separate processes. We'll wait and see!
